    Default tire question....can I use

I have a set of 430 compound 22.5 x 11 x 13 tears for my FM. Question, will these work on my '97 Star FM?

    Thanks!

Default They will fit the rims BUT!!!

I don't think you will like them. I am guessing that you will have to run 40 lbs of air to prevent the side wall flexing and not distorting the contact patch too much. The center of the tire will be moving so close to the center line of the car during side loads that I believe you will have a hard time keeping the inside front tire on the ground. It will look spectacular..but pretty spooky to drive...Let us know how it does.

Default Got a bit of info elsewhere as well!

Hi Darryl, thanks for the reply! I will indeed let you know how I do.

As follow to your post, I did in the interim go back and send an email to the place where I got the tires (Andretti Autosport, Indianapolis, IN) and here is what they said:

"It should be fine, you will have a slight balance shift with more rear grip due to the more contact patch."

Now I am REALLY intrigued to find out!

    Best,
    Ben

    Default

If you do not have a setup for your car on radials, I would sell the tires to someone running a Pro Mazda and buy the right tires for your car.
