Currently my father and I are in the process of modifying a buck we purchased that will become the new body for our OMS DSR-1. To improve air flow over the body we are reshaping the engine cover and front fenders. I have been doing a lot of research into sports racer aerodynamics, and in general I have found answers to most of my questions by searching the dsr forum or elsewhere online. One thing I cannot find is any info on fender shape. I have seen many cars with a sort of symmetrical airfoil shape when viewed from above, such as the LSR II (top), and many others with a biased airfoil shape that generally seems to dump air off the side of the car such as the WX-10 (bottom). My question is what is the aero advantages/disadvantages to either design? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks, John
