A number might be helpful as one mans "cheaper" is most likely different from the next

"Wait, which one is the gas pedal again?"
I agree Bill: I think of $5,000. for any kind of race car cheep solo or roadracing. there is a D-13 in wis. for cheep money. Lawyer bob listed under fv for sale in this forum.
Also consider you skill set and how much time and/or money you have to allocate. I have the skills, equipment, and TIME to make a $3000 car competitive. You may not and would be better off spending more. Even a top notch car is going to take one day a week to stay on top of.

I have a BRD that I rebuilt the frame out of chrome alloy several years back. It has Penske's front and rear, wired for radio and 2 sets of wheels. The car has not been the track in about 10 years. It comes with a Lybarger short and long box. I also have 1 spare nose and a new rear engine cover. I'd like to get $3750 for it. The car is in Ft. Worth Texas

What a deal. The fun will start soon.

And I do realize that FV might not be "competitive” at nationals right now…even with the move to CM.
It will be VERY fun to run local and that’s where I really want to run it.
