You might try Porter Racing: 209-722-7373. Has a source for new, perhaps he has one that's not new.
Gordy,
I think back in late summer early fall someone was wanting a list of people that wanted an Alum rad. I told them I would take one and I got the impression that he had a few other names on the list. I have deleted my private messages but I will see if I can find the original post.
Is this the post? Swift DB1/3 aluminum radators
We're looking at having a lot of 18 custom aluminum radiator cores built and wondering if there's anyone else interested in committing to buy one or more of them. (min. order is 18 pcs.) Payment via check would be expected prior to ordering for obvious reasons.
Price for bare core will be around $100, not including shipping.
Finished rad will be around $350.
These will be a single row of 1" tubes measuring 15.75" wide x 19" tall x 1-1/4" thick with the tubes running vertically.
Finished rads. will include the filler neck (no cap), inlet and outlets in whatever size you want, and a 1/2 NPT bung for the temp sensor.
Thinking we want to order within the next month so let me know if anyone is interested.
Thanks,
Lawrence

Thanks for all the responses.
I have a spare brass rad in nice condition. My aluminum rad has a tiny pinhole where the tube connects to the tank. According to the repair shop I took it to it would be a difficult if not impossible fix.
I will check with Neil and also HayesCages to see what they have.
If there is a production run, I am interested in one.
I'm still working on this and have a few calls to make.
So far only about 6 people have commited to purchase them.
I'll try to get answers posted here as soon as I can.

If you can't get to the 18 minimum, I know Devon at C&R in Indy has been making DB1/3/6 ally rads. He made a one-off for me (not for $350 sadly, thats a good deal) and then made a run of a half dozen or so, using a standard core size. He liquidated the remaining a few years ago and Porter bought quite a few, but they'll make more if that is your only option at this point.

I just called them to get a figure for just the cores, 10 of them.
I'll let you guys know what's up when they get back to me.

I can get the cores with a 10 piece minimum now.
Our investment would be around a $1k so we'd need enough people to make deposits to cover that before I can place the order.
Those of you that already have commited can send payment, those who are thinking about it let me know if your interested.
It'll take me at least a month to get them and assemble. Each unit will include the filler neck but no cap. Filler neck will be small style.
I can make whatever in and out size you want, contact me for particulars.
Cost is $350 per unit plus freight.
Thanks,
Lawrence

I am all in for 1. Come on we need another 9 to step up. I have about "fitzed" through the brass on mine in a couple places.
For those that are interested they can send a check for either $100 or the full $350 to :
PO Box 382
Sagle, ID 83860
Please make payable to Hayes Cages, LLC
When we receive your check we'll deposit in an account, when we reach the $1k I'll place the order.
After the cores show I will ask each of you what type of inlet/outlet combo you want and if you want a drain, temp sender port, etc.
As far as lead time; that kind of depends on you....in the past I've received product from these people in as little as a week or two. Production may take up to a month after I get the cores as I have a full work-load now.
I've attached a couple of pictues of another rad. I made last year for an Alfa project. The old one weighs 17#, the AL. one is just over half that at 9.25#. You do have to remember though that the alloy ones may hold more water so the weight savings may not be as much as that.
Thanks,
Lawrence

We accept PayPal as well if that makes it easier for some. Please add 3% to the amount you send to cover their charges.

I'll be placing the core order this afternoon, thanks guys!
We'll post updates here for core delivery time-line, fab time and shipping.

Cores are on order and should be shipping early next week from the supplier.
As soon as I get them I'll post a time-line for production.
One thing that we're going to change is the filler neck; since the supplier produces the larger (std.) size themselves they can sell them for half the cost of the smaller size, therefore we'll be ordering the std. size filler necks rather then the smaller.
If anyone wants a small filler neck let me know.
