Default Bruce Lindstrand for Area 5 Director

Figured this is the best location to start a thread of this type.

I think one of the most important powers we all posses as SCCA members is to vote for our area directors who will in turn control the direction of our club.

Area 5 (Cen-Div) is up for a new director this year. One of the candidates is Bruce Lindstrand (most know him as LMI or Lindstrand Motorsports, Inc). Bruce has been very involved as a Formula and Sports Racer guy for decades. He currently is on the board of Milwaukee Region, SCCA and sits on the FSRAHC for SCCA. My bet is that a large number of readers here on Apexspeed know Bruce and have seen him at many Cen-Div and Great Lakes races.

Bruce is a racers racer. He represents the club racer (a clear majority of what our club does) from decades of being in the drivers seat and as an active integral part of the Cen-Div club racing organization.

If your in Area 5, please watch for those ballots coming soon in the mail.

I will be voting for Bruce Lindstrand as the best representative for me as a open wheel club racer and ask that all of you in Area 5 do the same.

Bruce Lindstrand for area 5 Director

I am not in area 5 but I know Bruce very well. Bruce is the straightest of the straight shooters and will represent area 5 in the best possible way!

    Thanks ... Jay Novak

Default Bruce Lindstrand for Area 5 Director

With the background Bruce has in club racing, I feel he would be the ideal person for a Director's position. I'm just in the wrong division to be able to vote for him myself.

Don't worry, I'll vote for you and Jay also - living in Illinois has taught me a thing or two about elections.

    Jk.

    Jk.
Doesn't being a Conservative in Illinois mean you only vote once in an election?

I say vote Bruce for Area 5 Director, no matter how many times you vote!

A post card from Bruce and the Area 5 ballot just arrived in the mail today.

You can read a detailed statement about Bruce, his thoughts and positions on SCCA issues at:

    http://www.cendiv-scca.org/07area_5.html

Remember, your area Director sets the pace for the future of SCCA. Your vote is important, so vote for the candidate with your interests in mind.

If you don't vote, don't bitch.

    Default First course of action

I have no dog in the hunt but I would like someone to look into the cen-div Great Lakes split and determine if a re join would be helpful. The split in my mind made Chicago the DMV for travel and seemed the lower class counts. Maybe we could award 1 point for each tow though Chicago! Friday at 2:00 pm would be 2 points!

Bruce is a good guy and knows club racing. If I had a vote that is where I would go.

    Fantastic news!

"In Area Five, Bruce Lindstrand, of Darien, Wis., defeated Todd Heilicher, of Minneapolis, Minn., 853-192 votes to win the spot vacated by outgoing Board member Bob Lybarger. R. David Jones, of Fort Worth, Texas, retained his Area Seven position with a 390-214 vote margin over Dan Helman, of Huffman, Texas."

Congratulations to Bruce, a great thing for racers across the country for Bruce to win.

I also want to say thanks to Bob Lybarger for his service on the Board. We are so fortunate to have had Bob in this role and now to have elected Bruce. These two are racers' racers.
