Even the ALMS still calls it Mosport!

One thru four is my favorite chunk of racetrack anywhere; and I can't see too many people ever calling it anything but Mosport!
It will always be Mosport ( not mossport) to me.
Loved racing there in the early 70's.
It will always be Mossport (Mawssport) to me, a town, an experience, not Mo-Sport (motor-sport) zippo promoter's slang........remember reading in the Toronto's main newspaper in 74' how the fans set fire to the track, that was my occassional pit guy n long time friend and his crew who only launched one of those over-under beer can cannons with some camp stove fluid down on the track after turn two, left-down swooper.....hey, I don't know how to build one of those gismo's and don't do that sort of tomfoolery, me and wife number 1 finally found Nick on race day when the snowbirds flew over (North Blue Angels), he was covered in dust from 4 days of camping and Mollies......go Nikki Lauda Ferrari 312
me and wife were hanging over the Tyrell pit box, stable, manger, and one of the crew said, "Give Mosport back to the Indians"......never forget that and the accent as well!!
A very reputable source indicates that CTMP is being resurfaced this month.
Say goodbye to your favorite hump/bump and divot.
It will be a whole new ballgame next season.
Dang - I remember the last time they paved it and I lost all my turn-in point markers like it was yesterday... Took me about a year to figure out the first apex for T2 again.

sigh,
be prepared for increased race fees again...

be glad those horrible cement patches will be gone. Maybe by paving at this time of the year it will hold up in the spring. Would welcome some smooth corners again.
Track is really improving, Nice to have a bridge so you can arrive and leave anytime you line.
Thank You Mosport for all the improvements.
Dan Purdy
Work in progress...on turns 1,5,3, 8, 9 and 10 as well.
Wow!
Rumors of the castrol tower being toppled over have finally come true as well...tower and old timing and scoring are gone

I think many sports fans hate it when a sponsor comes in and changes the historic name of sports venues to their own brand name. And what happens when their sponsorship contract expires and they don't renew it, change the track name again, and again for the next influx of sponsorships.
To us old-timers whom watched sports before this trend starting happening what 10+ years ago, we will always call it Mosport Park or the Boston Garden or Mile High Stadium, etc., etc., etc. And hopefully we will all teach our kids to call it the same original names as we did and still do now.
