    Default 2013 f1600 pro series

Is the 2013 season shaping up to be roughly the same number of weekends?
I look forward to seeing the schedule.

Only Rand will know for sure. but it looks like 6 weekends at great tracks.
Can we expect to see a MECO orange car out of Augusta Georgia?

I wonder if Rd Atl or Barber might make the 2013 schedule. I heard they almost made the 2012 schedule, but who knows how true that rumor was.

Atlanta yes Alabama no thanks. the memory of a client getting a $25k asphalt damage bill will never leave my mind. Yes he spilled his gear lube after changing gears ( he tripped) but thats a damn expensive mistake. Not me brother.

    My thoughts:

General feeling in the paddock, from both drivers and officials, was that NJMP stunk.
The numbers were down and the high winds left a bad taste in anyone's mouth that had a canopy (except Scanlan, b*stard!).

So I would think that frees up one weekend to go to Road Atlanta or Atlanta Motorsports Park(?)...

    Just my 0.02 cents.

I had concerns about Barber, and avoided it for years, but the new managment has a more realistic view. I went last year, and was treated well by everyone. I even spilled fuel [which I had not done in years] and theycame and did a cleanup, with no repercussions. The track is fun, so I hope it is on the list.

I'll second this. We went to Barber on the regional weekend, and all the track staff I encountered was downright pleasant.

You don't want to go there, trust me. It's like Rumple Stiltskin (or was it Johnny Appleseed who slept for 20 years?) awoke, became a track designer, and w/o the insight and knowledge amassed in that time frame - came up with AMP!

    Default Atlanta Motorsports Park

AMP was made for track day cars. It has a few issues that make it not very conducive to W2W car racing, like sound restrictions. Also, for some strange reason they didn't design pit road/front straight so crew people can see or time thier car as it goes by.

Coop - I think it was Rip Van Winkle. I looked at the Thunderbolt track layout and watched Utube videos - looked kind of funky to me. Lightning does look more fun and the guys I know have said that.
