Default Ted Powell Memorial Race Weekend, Aug 30- Sept2

Heads up. MCO is starting to post information for this race weekend.
    http://www.mco.org/cms/index.php/ted...-memorial-race

and a note from Pat on the CASC site,
    http://www.casc.on.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=25636

There is a contact email for paddock coordination in Pat's message.

Bottomline, the paddock will be tight. Looks like it will be first come first served (except for the CTCC). There will be a coordinator there Thurs. evening and Friday to help with the layout.
I'll use this thread to post updates as they become available.

Is there camping that weekend? From what I recall there was an area for camping there at the track.

Yes...camping. They are even allowing it for Sunday night in case anyone wants to hang out until Monday morning.
From what I hear (unofficial), no RV's in the paddock. There will be a designated RV area.

I am assuming that racers using RVs to pull race cars in race car trailers will be able to park in the paddock. Does anyone know otherwise?

    Greg...
You should double check with the paddock marshal in the provided email. Be patient, they are still ramping up.
My understanding is that trailers are to be dropped in the paddock and all RV's need to be left in the designated RV parking area. They are making special accommodation for big rigs as required...best to arrange in advance.

    Frank;
I'll give you $25 for your old tires.
They fit nicely on my van.

    Cheers

No idea, and it hinges a lot on the weather. Its still pretty early for registration.
For what its worth...its a long track (+5kms)...I've been on the track with 30 other cars and never saw anyone for a whole session.

Not trying to persuade you either way, but I would expect most of the 20+ FFs entered will do the test day. If you decide to do it, yes, you will be passed severa(?)l times per lap by faster cars. The Thurs nite lapping in street cars may be an alternative.

    Also Des,

the track is very wide and has many straights where overtaking by faster cars can get done without much compromise, there are a few tricky spots though going up the hill into the duck bill section of the track.

Desmond..note that Thursday night lapping as Greg said is 'CLOSED 'wheel cars only, which of course you still can do to learn the track.

Is anyone aware of what kind of accommodations there are for people staying in their own RV's? I have heard that MCO would "Try" to accommodate people by sending them behind the quary. Can anyone confirm this? Steve, I would imagine that you are staying in your RV?

Also, does anyone know if Dogs are allowed at this same location?
