Thanks for the detailed recap. Despite the stress of deciding whether the rain would or wouldn't come, it was a fantastic weekend. What a great group to race with. Thanks to Jon Van de Car and Jim Farley for helping me patch things together for the Sunday afternoon race. See you in Sept.
I had already put all my tires away in the very front of the trailer. Then my car stand was put in next. then my scooter was put in. and all the tools the awning was put away and all the slides on the motorhome were in. So I was ready to race and then get out of Dodge and hopefully beat the traffic. As I was about to hit the starter button it started to rain we must have gotten an inch in 10 min. This is the time I wish I had a Garage. I do like being next to the Motorhome and ac and food and water and all that comfy stuff.I also arrived at the track with an empty Nitrogen bottle so would have been a pain getting to the wets and getting pressures set and on the car in the rain, drying off then getting suited up again So I tossed in the towel.I love the rain and then just before the race I found out Andy was not going out and tyler has never raced in the rain I did watch and really enjoyed it tyler did a great job Grats Bro Peter Cheney fv #06
Pete.....I left at 16:45 because Ed(F500) behind you in the pits wasn't going to run after the rain/wind storm. It was still raining hard on 106s,393w and 93 south. The closer I got to the 93/89N(my road back to Vermont), the heavier the trafffic. After I got on 89N, the traffic was backed up on 89S for at least 5 miles because people were trying to get to 93S.
Guys, I was one of the F500's out there this weekend. Does anyone have a picture of the podium from Sunday's finish. It was my first win and none of my friends believe I won!!! Since I was the only F500 to finish, I joined the Vee photo. Thanks for letting me in.

You need 2 cars to win
I have a FV you could buy and come run with Many Vees
my legitimate win was on Sat because there were three of us but I figured no one would know the pic was on Sunday. Thanks for the offer but one race car at time. Maybe I could throw on some skinny tires and run with you guys.
I just posted a video of Steve P's first lap crash on Sunday morning. I was glad to hear Steve was ok. Any further updates? It's under 2 minutes of video and it's "interesting" from my point of view... ;-)

There was no Steve that crashed. Andy Pastore had a minor altercation with a large blue bail that he believed was in need of re alignment

Brief video is at http://www.irace4food.com It's dated August 5.
Let me know if you still have a problem finding it...
I can probably post a better link when I get home.
