Default 3 weeks out to the penultimate weekend of the 2012 series

3 weeks from today the F2000 and F1600 Championship DSeries, along with the finale of the inaugural Atlantic Championship Series, will be competing at West Virginias Summit Point Motorsports Park.
All three classes have 2 full hours of dedicated single class timed practice and qualifying on Friday August 24 before the weekends competition begins with morning warmups and races either right before lunch, right after lunch or as the final on track activity of the day.
Sharing the facility with CCS Motorcycle Racing will prove an interesting and unique spectating opportunity to watch singularly dedicated road racing motorcyclists.
If new to that discipline, be prepared to be in awe of bikes ridden really fast by brave riders.

We plan to be there. Looking forward to it after the way the car ran during the second race even with a bent (somewhat repaired) front wing incurred in qualifying!

    Default Working car

I plan on going if I have a working car.
I also planned on being a porn star.
Much like racing at Summit, I may not have the requisite equipment for the job.

    Hey Rick Paul,
As many know I at times do my posting at cocktail hour and having been reading an old Somerset Maugham novel I feeling, shall we say, erudite.
    How's that hit you ?

Be honest. You got 5 pages in before you looked up with a disappointed look and said, "Oh, that kind of bondage."

Erudite....is that like a French finger sandwich? Wait....forgive me I was thinking of a crudite with the accent aigu over the 'e'.

I see this whole thing swinging towards an F1 association.

PS .Rand, I recommend some Emily Bronte to gain perspective. I personally will re-read 'Heart of Darkness' for the umpteenth time. Glad to see this forum moving into classic literature. Now let's discuss blocking......sorry couldn't resist.

Lots of good classic novels for racers: Proust's In Search of Lost Time, Dicken's Great Expectations, Kerouac's On The Road, and Things Fall Apart by Chinue Achebe. But I'm sure Tim's favorite right now is Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment.

My favorite "non-classic" racing novel is The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein (seriously).

I don't think I want a race car constructor reading Things Fall Apart ...

I loved The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein.

I checked with Tim. He is reading a book entitled One Block, Two Blocks, Three Blocks No More. I don't see Stein's book as a racing book somehow.

My apologies if I caught you off guard. Truth is, I'm a CCS racer and logged in to find out what's up with this coming event at Summit.

I've been racing bikes for 10 years, and never seen a combination venue [with open wheel cars] like this on our schedule before.

I think it'll be a bit of a zoo at first [Friday evening when we invade the paddock], but am definitely looking fwd to the event as I've never watched F-1 type cars on course "up close and personal" like I'm expecting. Viewing options at Summit are far better than most tracks.

If you've raced Summit Main, there's not much I can tell you. If you haven't, it's a must run date.

I'm running the Team Challenge. 75 lap/2hour race generally split between 2 riders, mandatory pit stop, some hard nuts run the race solo and only pit for fuel....but I'm too, old for that sh*t.

    See you all there.

I just thought it was humorous. Imagine someone's first post over on appetizerspeed.com being about chassis setup.

I'm sure I can beg one off someone pitted next to me.....or if I really plan things out, I'll have a couple extra in the cooler.
