Nothing here either.
Nothing here either.
I have nothing also
With all due respect, this is not whining. It is more shock and disappointment. We all want the series to do well and want to know how our friends are doing. There has been over a year of constant announcements and now we don't hear a peep about the inaugural race. The web site promises all types of ways to follow the races.
Yes, we should grant them some slack, and there may be a good explanation (like bad wifi), but ...
Sad about Coop's illness. That may explain part of the silence.
Hopefully race #1 was fun for them.
No live timing.
Went to the site through the F1000champ and went directly to Speedcasttv, nothing from either.
Brandon text me last night and said data is expensive for him .50 per text. So he only sent me very limited info.
I agree with you Russ disappointing after all of the hype.
Here's a report: NYR 0 Devils 0 after 2. Go Rangers!
Congratulation to Brandon Dixon and Coop!

thats usually a good series, go Devils.
was 3rd place announced?? i give 3rd place a mention too, I've never been to Mosport but it sounds like a glitch happened

There is a film crew taping tons of film at the track. As well all cars are required to carry a
GoPro (supplied by the series). I am told that the race will be studio produced and broadcast at a later date
Ortiz stuffed it yesterday (in 5, I believe) and came in on the hook, LR corner off. The crew stood and watched while the tow truck dropped the car to the ground. They did not seem to notice or care that the diffuser was hanging down under the left side of the car...the diffuser then contacted the ground first then crushing the radiator and pretty well tearing the left side pod off the car....a whole lot of damage that could have been avoided.
I'll call up to the track later and try to get some additional info. I might go back tomorrow as well. Regardless of what info I can gather, I will post as soon as I get it.
The problem with texting etc from Mosport is not technically related. It is because of the roaming charges that US-based telecom providers are charging. My understanding is that there is free internet access at the track, but restricted to media types.
Again, I will try and get some updates and post as soon as I get them.

Would be nice which of my friends won $11,950 in cash and awards today...
You would think that 5 hours after the race that someone could have posted the results!
Or maybe at least some indication that there even was one.
All I know is Novak driving the DUDE Vodka Piper Suzuki started 9th after a suspension failure in qualifying drove to a 4th place finish.
No other info provided.
Facebook knows all...Brandon Dixon's page is full of congrats for getting a win.
Perhaps the only time I have ever (slightly) regretted not having a Facebook account. Awesome that he won, though.
Maybe there was one of those mass alien abductions or something. It happens alot in Canada.
I say we should pray.
How can I find it without being on Facebook, and you can't?

Josh, you and i may be the last two on earth without a facebook account. It was hard enough to give in to Twitter to follow Monty at the track.
Maybe a sure sign of Armageddon if i have to go to facebook to get race results.
I like twitter because if you follow the right people, you have a never-ending timeline of hilarity any time you want something funny to read. Facebook is just awful in every way.
Probably just spent more time at it that I was willing - trying to get some parts done for a couple teams for tomorrows Bump Day.
Pretty amusing - for all the hype up to now, 6-7 hours after the first race and there is still nothing about the first race.........
I spent fewer than 15 seconds. Good job sneaking in a nice pat for you own back, though.
only those without facebook accounts are the ones that will survive when the $hit goes down
its creepier when i dont capitalize or use punctuation
Ken
Hardly a pat - just a statement of priorities - once I saw the list, I knew that I had better things to do. Brandon can get along just fine without me.
Haven't spoken to John about the lack of updates but the internet/data situation is wreaking havoc on getting any info out. At this point I think everyone is more concerned on making sure the event turns out well, and so far it has run flawlessly.
The Speedcast team is here and doing a ton of work, at some point plans changed and live video feeds are not happening this season as far as I know. I would assume fields aren't big enough to support the budget for this, just my .02 though.
Now to the good stuff!
Qualifying was interesting as I got to watch most of it from the wall. Had a LR toe link fail in turn two on the 2nd lap with terrifying results, but luckily kept it out of the wall. I'm told the Speedcast team got a really good shot of it, and the one from my series provided GoPro was pretty good as well. Brandon, Coop, and JR all ran nose to tail for awhile with Brandon coming out on top, followed by JR and Coop (Not sure of order, left my sheet at the track unfortunately). I ended up 9th after my 1 timed lap.
Race was incident free and went green all the way. The first series standing start went excellently too, with no problems I could see. Brandon, JR, and Coop broke away, and I fought my way through up to 4th but by the time I got there the top 3 were gone, but I was off the pace anyways as our "alignment by eye" wasn't as good as it could be. I'm told Brandon ran away a bit and Coop passed JR on the last lap in 1 to take 2nd. Brandon had fast lap at a 1:19. Final order was (again from memory)
Brandon
Coop
JR
Myself
Nicho Vardis
RC Enerson???
So far the weekend has been great and well run. The track is packed with fans (It's Victoria Day weekend) who really like our cars and respond to them. Can't wait to see some external shots to the standing start! The F1000 team of Jon, George, and Pete have done a great job so far, as has the SCCA team of Jack and Rick. Looking forward to tomorrow! Time to go dig through my data.
Thanks for the update Brian! Sounds like you guys put on a good show! Congrats to Brandon, Coop, and JR!
Good luck to all on Sunday!
RC is a local Pinellas County, Fl, driver. Great kid and learning fast. He's running both F1000 and USF2000.
Make that three... The crazy part of it and one of the reasons I don't have one is you end up with friends you don't know. For example, Brandon is a friend of my wife! And it has nothing to do with racing! Aw come on, it's not what you think so you guys get your minds out of the gutter! No, she's a friend of a friend of a friend, etc.
Seriously, Congratulations to Brandon, Coop, and everyone else up there. And a big for a successful standing start- was waiting to see how that went.
You sure? Maybe it went down like this:
Officer Naughtypants: (struts into shop, heels clicking on concrete, drowning out the sounds of chips being made) Sir, there is a great deal of noise coming from here. The neighbors have been complain - oh my, what a big chip conveyor you have!
Professor Machinetool: (shirtless, unexplained sparks raining down in the background) Why yes. But I'm afraid it seems to be leaking fluid from the end. Look, I'm sorry about the noise, but....
Officer Naughtypants: (cuts him off by shoving him against the machine's control, causing it to rapid into the hard stop) I'm afraid I'm going to have to give you a .... Citation.
Professor Machinetool: That sounds painful. (looks toward machine, eyes widening) You've faulted my Z-axis!
Officer Naughtypants: Don't worry, I'll take care of ALL your axes.
<bow chicka wow wow>

I like how Professor Machinetool became Professor Naughtypants with one touch ...
and on a Sunday morning ......
back to racing - probably not.
