    Default Sprocket

What kind of sprocket and what size are most people (usually) running?

I just need a basic installation set-up -- Taylor diff bolt-pattern, for use with stock GSXR front sprocket, etc. (This chain-drive buisiness is entirely new to me).

    Thanks,

    Chris

    16 and 17 front
43-48 rear should give you tons of options.

I find I use a 15 up front with reasonable frequency too, at least, I did on the WF-1.

Part of that may be due to racing at altitude where we have less HP. 15/47 was my most common ratio, I think. By comparison, I think I ran 16/46 at Road America.

Generally, you'll find you're in the 3:1 ballpark, plus or minus 0.2.

I second the 15 front. And don't forget it's all on 530 chain and 530 matching sprockets.

I run 16 and 46 at Road Atlanta and that would give me 12,000 at the end of the back strech. That's the fastest track I run. Could use the 15 at Nashville or Barber but I don't change gears because I'm a cheap SOB.

I have it in my mind we were at 17:46 at Road America. I see Wren viewing this thread, and he will probably correct me if I'm wrong.

    Re: Sprockets

On my former Phoenix F1000 I used a Sprocket Specialists brand sprocket 530/45.

I thought the following chart might help many other F1000 owner/drivers.

I'd run a 16-41 because while the rest of you'd be going 150 MPH I'd be going 166.7 and blow right by you.
