Default Dry sump oil tank size

Has experience indicated the optimal dry sump oil tank size for our 1600s?
I do understand the more is better concept, but there only so much room available.

Would 6 to 6.5 quarts be enough oil for the dry sump tank to keep the engine happy

More is better, but adds weight and eats space.

    (4) quarts in the tank is plenty. Figure an extra 1.5 quarts in the engine, cooler and filter. That's plenty. The trick is to make the tank tall and skinny.

I'll send you an email with details on tank design.

I am starting with a 6 inch round tank, but the tank needs to be cut down and notched at the bottom to fit around the frame rail. I need to notch it by removing remove half the diameter for the lower 6 inches of the tank.
