Default 8 weeks and counting !

Hey gang, 8 weeks from today is the first series test day of 2012 at VIR !
It seems forever ago that we finished up at the Glen last October but the time is rapidly approaching to get the 2012 campaign under way.
If you have been watching the series website you know about some of the new teams, expanded teams, car changes, new drivers and in general people getting all ready to start what promises to be another hugely competitive season.
The tentative entry list will be posted by the end of February but suffice to say, young lion or grizzled veteran, everyone will have plenty of company and people to race with, test themselves against and strive to raise their game to compete at their highest level.
As the series un-official motto goes, bring your A game, it's like the doing Runoffs every few weeks in intensity and competition.
The schedule, essentially one double race weekend per month for 7 months [ok, ok, 2 in May and none in September, but you get the point], should give even the most rabid driver or fan enough action for any one season.
I can't wait, the staff can't wait, the teams and drivers can't wait, it will definately be a standout season for everyone.

    Default Cabin Fever

Does the Kommisar need a Caribbean vacation before the circus starts? Seems like you are a little cranky. I think we're all in the same boat. See you at VIR.

    What do mean CRANKY ?
Not really, just to long since the end of last season.

While doing some advanced math on the back of a Hooters napkin, i concluded that if each driver would donate $17.64 per pro race weekend, the end result would be a fund significant enough to fund the costs of having Jim attend the races on a retainer as their Driver Advocate. (Of course that would not cover any wine consumed at nearby watering holes.) Rounding it up to $20/driver/weekend, would enable Jim to submit his appeals with the required bond (both the monetary bond and that on the required stationary.)

Jim's credientials for this position more than speak for themselves:
    1. He is a board certified lawyer, and a member of the Florida Bar (the State that brought [bought] you the 2000 Presidential election.
    2. He is a renown building contractor under constant IRS surveilance.
    3. He is intimately familiar with spending over one's head to continue racing.
    4. In 2005 he was voted by the NEFCDA as the "Most cheating team owner of the year" at their mid-winter meeting at Sebring.
    5. He is currently an active driver in FF and partial car owner.
    6. He has never read a Supp, nor the GCR (but knows what they are supposed to say.)
    7. His "tours" of historical sites nearby all of the Series race venues should be Mobil 5 star rated.
    8. His beautiful wife would like him out of town more often.

And I have successfully chaperoned Finelli for a weekend.

I think Rand is just worried about local wine supplies.

Well Jim, that is precisely why I travel "wet", shall we say.
Except when we go to Mosport.
You will be welcome but you'd REALLY be welcome of you bring Carley, and I guess Cole as well.
Permanent traveling trophy queen to go along with Greg Rickes podium announcing, now we're onto something great.....

I am sorry but why do we need to Cole to have Carly smiley face ? I mean I guess Cole can be court Jester. If someone has a bad session Cole can be sent to their pit area to be abused until the team feels all better.

And with 3 series now Dave will be over worked so I will happily intermediate on all on track driver disputes. should ateast liven things up a bit.

I'm seriously thinking about starting my first ever Apexspeed poll.

To decide who the Series entrants will pay $20 per weekend to be their Driver advocate...the three current front runners:

    Jim Morgan
    Kevin Firlein
    Carly

Firlein's face makes that Z06 look like it is painted Alpine White.

    Paul,
Obviously you were posing for the album cover for Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup".

Your use of a plastic cup instead of a glass container while on a paddock road does show good judgement. Thus, adding to your credientials as a canidate.

Frog, I am pleased to accept your offer to be my campaign manager. Now that we have a campaign song (until Toby files the cease and desist) what I need are cash and brains. I'm not a lawyer, so I can't pass along additional charges to my clients, and I am definitely not smart - so where do we start? Free booze in a custom SMR solo cup? Might have to change the name to Green and Orange Solo Cup.
