Just as a heads up... Rather then use my old desktop, I installed a clean copy of R-factor on my newer laptop. Anytime I'd load a track it would exit to desktop witout any errors. Doing some research lead me to a fix. Appratantly the ex.e needs to be run as administrator. Simply right click in the rfactor start Icon (In your desktop) and select "Run as Adminitrator". The program then runs fine. Apparantly this issue only impacts Windows 7.

Question: When downloading the FA Mod what directory should I expand into? I don't want to create teh same mess I had on my desktop.

Also just want to verify we re usinf Formula atlantic v1_0

I always extract them to my desktop and move them over manually... test... and delete from desktop. I found that a lot of the "self install" programs that come with mods never work.

Think I got it... also had prpblems extracting.... ended up having to run win-zip as admin too...

Its fun to try a new track every week or so, but it would be helpful to post which version of a track is being used and where to find the particular download?

Also it looks like rfactor central now requires a paid membership after 3 downloads!

Sorry guys, it's Vanport 1.1. rFc doesn't charge for anything I don't think if you're downloading the track the traditional way. I see an offer of 3 "one click installs" for joining which isn't what I normally do. I just download the tracks manually.

Not sure what is going on, but I do not think I was trying to download one-click, but I kept getting a message saying I was past my limit of 3 downloads

Have you tried scrolling down the page a bit and using the alternate links?
the "1 click" and regular install links at the top right are both from the rFC server, which you are only allowed 3 downloads now without paying...

I already have the track downloaded with them installed, at it's booting me with a mismatch? I figure that's what's causing it. I may have to uninstall the track, and download the original for my league install

All of the tracks should be standard downloads without modification. If they do get modified for some reason, I'll make the track downloadable via FTP or post a link to the update.

Yes I did look further down the page and that download was successful. Sometimes they now load a page with so many download buttons you have no idea where to start!!!

However I did have a Vanport 1.1 loaded already and was getting booted as you describe due to a mismatch. The fresh download appears to work.

Hi gang,

Sorry haven't be on here recently, been very busy with off-season news and features. Unfortunately, i have some bad news, I will not be able to take part in at least the first portion of the season. The reason being, I tore my mcl in my right knee playing hockey. I currently can't drive my regular car, much less simulation race. Bummer. Hopefully can make some races when all healed up.
