Default Kentucky SPOILER: Miracles never cease...

Ed Carpenter wins the Kentucky race.

Dillon Batastini stops the race just over half way cause he was tired (fatigue).

Indy 500 winner (Dan Wheldon) doesn't qualify.

    Stands looked empty.

Hopefully all the free tickets to the Las Vegas race help fill up that place.

Looks like it was amateur hour in the pit lane. Power got taken out by Beatriz and there were several other major incidents.

Weldon wasn't a DNQ--he was gridded in the back after failing tech and still finished 14th.

I didn't look for Wheldon in the results, as it stated DNQ in the qualifying report. Didn't know it was for failing tech. Was that the same for Pippa Mann?

I don't get Versus, so had to go by T&S and results sheet.

    Sorry about that Mike.

Mann finished 22, 3 laps down. I don't know exactly how they handle Qualifying, but to me a DNQ usually means you put it on the trailer and head home. Maybe the IRL makes exceptions based on practice times or something like that.

    Default Bravo Ed and Sara

I'll have to stop making jokes about Ed now. With Ed a winner and Danica gone after one more race, who will be left to mock???? Maybe we can get King Hiro to return?

I just read that Sara Fisher found out a few weeks ago that Dollar General was going to cease sponsorship for her team next year. I hope she puts another deal together, but she always seems to find a way.

It is always nice to see someone new in victory lane.

[QUOTE=KevinFirlein;314721]Pippa crashed on her warm up lap during qual ,

She crashed pulling onto the track for her qual run. Power cannot buy a break. I could not understand why they didnt change the sidepod, unless it would have taken too long. If everyrace was at Kentucky, Carpenter would be the best indycar driver around. Great to see Sarah and her husband's team win. They put so much into it and have been amazing fast on the big ovals this year.
