    Default Watkins Glen Double

I dont want to start things off prematurely, but this may or may not be a possibilty this year. Mick already has a few booked. Anyone from SE Region want to join in?

Who's planning on attending? Does anyone have a rough schedule?

Something tells me we could get 10-15 cars here.

Absolutely. Zambo mentioned that anyone who comes from the SE Region gets a 12 pack of their choice.

As of now, I have a very strong intent to bring 5 FE's to this event! Zambo, you better plan on a couple of cases if that happens.

I'm planning to be there. Keith won't be there due to a niece who planned her wedding without consulting the racing schedule.

Registration materials should be up in a few days...I know the Race Chair was contacting Topeka to get the sanction # today or tomorrow.

    Rough sked (from memory...be kind):

Wed evening SCCA Registration open for a while to allow for trailer drop in the track.

Thursday morning & evening SCCA registration opens, as does WGI registration for the test day (test day is not an SCCA sanctioned day).

Friday morning Q1 for race #1, afternoon Q1 for race #2

Saturday Q2 for race #1, then Race #1.

Sunday Q2 for race #2, then Race #2.

Sked allows for Sat./Sun. attendee to qualify and race in both races of the double.

    Something like that.

I have 5 FE's confirmed for this event!

One other important note, the new FE muffler is required for this event!! Make sure you order yours from your local CSR before the race weekend! I'm sure all of the CSR's will try and have spare mufflers, but if the demand is too great, there might be a shortage and then I don't know what you will have to do....MANDATORY!

I'll be there with wife but, without a car. I will be collecting for my new favorite charity the "New Engine Junction Gang." It's a new charity.

On a side note, if you guys need some help, just holler. I can not speak for my competency though, as I will be "sampling the vintages" in order to dull the pain of not being able to race.

Don't drink too many of the free samples or you will be travelling home with lots of expensive undrinkable wine. I know.

By Sampling the Vintages, Zambo is referring to Yellow Tail and Little Penguin.

That, perhaps, maybe true. However, I will be trackside. Cheering all the way with my lovely bride and latest client (your wife) as we make plans. You see, my lovely bride is enthralled with the idea of decorating, building and other "additions" which simply MUST be made to a residence. I can think of nothing better than, while I am unable to race, spending someone else's money. So as you crest the up hill out of turn 3, take the lefthander after the heel of the boot (turn 9) or thunder into turn 1; look out for a raised glass as I consult with new clients. (Hmm, Paul Schneider may be around too. I recall the he is married as well. Note to self: another potential client.)

A generous donation to the New Engine Junction Gang may assist all at the Glen but, I am not one to forecast the future. No "donation" is too large; no check too big. Just remember, generosity begins in your wallet.

Better Homes and Gardens, Architectural Digest, This Old House. . . they are all coming out.

Make sure your pinky is pointing out because another finger will be flying out of my car as I flat track it through the Bus stop.

On a lighter note: Where the heck are all the Jay Motorsports guys?

I don't think any of them planned on running this since it is an out of division double for them and most are concentrating on the Pro Series.

Well Zambo, unfortunately for you, my bride is staying home for this trip. Which, is a good thing for me, considering she LOVES wine...especially the wine from up there. So, no schmoozing for a potential client .

As for getting a donation for the New Engine Junction Gang, try going to the Bank of Dad. I typically have good success with taking this route . And, is it a loan if you don't have to pay it back...?

That Bank Closed a LONG, LONG, LONG time ago. As I, as well as others before me, have espoused (no pun intended) "Let your checkbook be your guide."

As for your lovely bride not making the trip; we (the party planners) are disappointed. However, we will raise a glass in her honor. Maybe we will just have to call her.

Well, I have a very special deal when it comes to racing. I'm just the driver. My dad is the team principle. That involves being primary sponsor, secondary sponsor, crew chief, car chief, head (only) mechanic, and truck driver . He wears MANY hats...and I probably forgot a few . As for my wife ()...she gets to hold the umbrella and enjoy some glasses of wine later in the evening.

So Zambo, where did you go wrong ??

And, no calls. I'm afraid she'll take you up on your offer for her to be a client .
That'll leave me without any representation...

What a terrible weekend for those of you to miss. Dry track, weather in the 70's and 80's and great competition. I have to thank Robinson Motor Sports for working through all the bugs we've had in the past to allow us to get to this point. I cant wait for the Runoffs and lets hope they separate us from FM.

I'll await Mick's point of view as he got in a rhythm of telling stories Saturday night, my stomach almost exploded from laughing so hard.
