Default Mitch Martin, FV1600 points leader jumps to F1600 in USA

Victorian State Championship FV 1600 current pointer leader, Mitch Martin, scored big this weekend at his first Pro F1600 race at Mid-Ohio.

Mitch was driving one of Marc Borland's newly designed Sabre 02 FV 1600 cars earlier this season. He is now in the US driving one of Marc's Internationally successful Spectrum Formula F (Honda power) in the Pro F1600 series. His US debut with the Spectrum was extremely strong with a pair of second place finishes.

Congrats to Mitch Martin and Marc Borland

Since the Spectrum was new to the US and us, I spent a bit of time looking it over and measuring "things". In the process I got to meet and talk with Mitch. A fine lad. Gracious, pleasant, and not full of himself.

Cool to see some new blood, both driver and chassis, being so successful. Have any of those FV chassis made it over to the states?

    Matt,

Simple answer is: Nope, too much money.

Detailed answer is: If you mean the Sabre 02, unfortunatly no. I'd bet we'd see plenty of Australian cars over here other than the value of the USD vs. the AUD. The Australian economy is booming while the value of the dollar is not so great. Put it this way, to get a top notch "race ready" FV in OZ, it's $40k to $45k Here is an example: http://www.fvee.org.au/Members/grant...-08.8479050186
Remember, that asking price is in AUD, our money is worse than 1:1 to the AUD.

Damn, when my wife and I went to Australia back in 2000, the Aussie dollar was worth about 50 cents.
