Default Name Change

Through recent communications with Formula One counsel, the powers at Formula One are concerned about our use of the red, white & blue F1K logo, in that it appears similar to that of the black and red F1 logo. They are concerned that people might assume that we are directly part of, or associated with, F1. So, they have requested that we cease the use of the F1K logo and the F1K Series moniker. They also requested that we discontinue the use of the wording ‘Grand Prix’ in the Series name.

We are proud to see that Formula 1 has acknowledged our new series and in the spirit of harmony within the motorsports community; we have agreed to discontinue the use of the F1K logo and F1K Series moniker, and have reverted back to the Series’ original name, Formula 1000 Championship Series. The website address for the Championship has also been changed to reflect the Series name as: www.F1000champ.com. The website, as well as available marketing materials have been updated with the new logo and terminology.

In addition, to maintain continuity throughout our operation, we have changed our promoted email address to: F1000champ@gmail.com. We have also added the destination ‘F1000champ’ to all our twitter, face book, YouTube and Skype accounts. These will be the new destinations for updated news regarding the Championship.

Attached is a copy of the new logo for the Formula 1000 Championship Series.

    We apologize for any confusion.

    Default Web address change

We are currently changing over our web address to www.F1000champ.com and during the change over, the site will be down for a bit.

You will still be able to access the website through the old F1Kseries.com address after the change over, as it will be forwarded to the new address.

    We appologize for any inconvenience.

That's nice but does NOT hold water. Grand Prix is NOT a copyrighted term associated with Formula One racing. It's a "French" saying meaning "Great Prize" and IS used extensively in motor racing of all types, HORSE RACING (WAY before it was used in auto racing) and even in snooker matches and power boating. Bernie has no claim to the term. (not even in auto racing).

What he does have is enough money to make your life difficult if you use the term. But he would lose in the end.

And BCE would certainly remember and make good and sure that any "winner" of such a legal battle would NEVER get on any GP weekend in a supporting role. regardless of the amount of cash one was prepared to pay !

Exactly Mike, and our goal is to be on the North American F1 event schedules for 2013. So, in the spirit of harmony, we have graciously declined the use of the wording Grand Prix in our name.

After all, Grand Prix describes our style of racing, but a Championship is what its all about.

BCE? In the spirit of the departed TFG (to his detractors) I propose BFE in all further posts.

BFE sounds good! Maybe even BMFE?
