Through recent communications with Formula One counsel, the powers at Formula One are concerned about our use of the red, white & blue F1K logo, in that it appears similar to that of the black and red F1 logo. They are concerned that people might assume that we are directly part of, or associated with, F1. So, they have requested that we cease the use of the F1K logo and the F1K Series moniker. They also requested that we discontinue the use of the wording ‘Grand Prix’ in the Series name.
We are proud to see that Formula 1 has acknowledged our new series and in the spirit of harmony within the motorsports community; we have agreed to discontinue the use of the F1K logo and F1K Series moniker, and have reverted back to the Series’ original name, Formula 1000 Championship Series. The website address for the Championship has also been changed to reflect the Series name as: www.F1000champ.com. The website, as well as available marketing materials have been updated with the new logo and terminology.
In addition, to maintain continuity throughout our operation, we have changed our promoted email address to: F1000champ@gmail.com. We have also added the destination ‘F1000champ’ to all our twitter, face book, YouTube and Skype accounts. These will be the new destinations for updated news regarding the Championship.
