I'm may be having trouble navigating through the internet, but is there any info on what happened today at Road America?
I can't find anything.

Dixon
Cooper
?
Novak
Thats all I know
I can't add much, except I saw Robinson ahead of Dempsey, and Mike B had no time. I happened to view the FB on line timing briefly before it changed groups. Usually I hear some news via Twitter and Facebook, but nothing thus far. You'd think there would be a web page to view the day's results, but I haven't seen it.

Not going to here much now as they are partying
Thanks guys,
Hope to hear and see more as the weekend progresses.
I just walked all the way down to the gas pumps to look up these times.
Dixon-2:09.795
Cooper-2:11.461
Hill-2:12.293
Novak-2:12.827
Mclaughlin-2:14.864
Robinson-2:16.081
Dempsey-2:16.740
Beauchamp- no time
mike left the pits with his engine sounding funny.
Traffic is terrible. Going out with the fords was not a good idea. Closing speeds are way too big. Brandon is multiple seconds off of the pace that he was running yesterday. There was some kind of issue with the engine that should be fixed by tomorrow.
There is some new aero stuff in the field.
Qualifying 1 is tomorrow morning at 0955 I think.
The party is now over and Mike Devins outdid himself yet again. Dave Knaack's fried turkey and french fries were a nice addition. The Mystt Pomegranate and Regular Vodka didn't last long. There's a little bit of Tequila left over for tomorrow night...
I broke a header on my second lap so I didn't get a time. Found a nearby sprint car shop that got it welded up nicely and it was back on the car by lunch time. Hoping for dry qualifying tomorrow.
Mystt Premium Vodka not only sent a care package of Vodkas and Tequilas, but they sent these incredible trophies for the guys that make the podium. The winners will get their names etched on their trophy. Not many trophy shelves have one like this! Thanks to Pepper Bowe for the great pics!

Traffic terrible? I think I had one of the cleanest sessions I've ever had at RA. Not perfect, to be sure, but I got a couple of totally clean laps in. Where did you start?
That said, I agree with the closing speed issue - but that grouping (FB/FE/FF) is fairly common here in CenDiv.

Very sharp looking trophies. Kudos to Mystt.
I hope all goes well for everyone this weekend, wish I could be there.

Glad that you all enjoyed the get together last night. Special thanks to Mike and Mike for hosting.
Have a nice weekend and watch out for Brian Novak in the DUDE VODKA piper FB.
Good luck to all.
I blinked and missed the live timing. Any place the qual results are posted?
Geez, i get spoiled with F2kCS. They need Monty covering the Sprints.
From Rennie's link:
Dixon 2:07.819
Novak 2:11.266
Hill 2:12.009
Dumb question - when clicking on that link, it comes up with a screen stating that I need a plug-in, but doesn't state which one. Anyone know? I thought that i had everything necessary installed, but apparently not!
Oops - it suddenly now works!
Looks like Dixon is flying pretty well. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for no more motor issues!
even with the proper add ons it never did work for me. That is a great lap from Brandon, faster then his best from the Runoffs.

What's the weather forecast for tomorrow?
Showers and a few thunderstorms likely. High around 70F. Winds ESE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60%.
The official Citation Co-Op Owners Association hat is now resting on the qualifying knockout bell.

I hope that the other guys are able to step things up a bit tomorrow or Brandon may screw up from taking it too easy out there!
A broad band of rain and thunderstorms are about 20 miles west of the track right now and moving towards it.
What time is the FB race?

It started raining part way through this morning's qualifier and is still raining now. The FB race should be at about 2 or so.
The car is pretty good but the traffic is still bad. Brandon's 2:06 was with traffic and having to stuff it inside someone at Canada. Brandon has also had dash problems that have meant that he has done almost the whole weekend without a functioning dash so no shift lights or anything else. It would also be nice to evaluate the improvements to the car.
Okay, the dash isn't working, but please tell me the camera is.

Forecast looks like a good chance it will stop raining in time for a dry race.
Yeah, the accuweather radar shows the area of thunderstorms moving North-NorthEast. Even though I've driven to RA from Milwaukee, where is it in relation to Oshkosh?
It must be raining...best lap for the leader (McLaughlin) is a 2:26.

McLaughlin seemed to be pulling away slightly, but Dixon may be inching back up to him ...
What happened to Coop? He didn't take the green.
Both ran a 26 this lap (8), and the lead appears stable at 8 seconds.

text from the track says its foggy, misting, and the track never had a chance to dry out after heavy rains during sportsracer race

Did Brandon screw up at the start, or is McLaughlin just that much better in the wet?
Brandon got a 2:06 in qualifying?
Finishing order:
McLaughlin
Dixon -9.6 secs
Novak -57 secs
Hill
Beauchamp
Dempsey
Robinson

I was surprised by Jeremy Hill's last two laps. He really picked up the pace at the end, nipping Mike Beauchamp for 4th.
Congrats to McLaughlin, holding a 9 sec lead over Dixon is not an easy task.
I think the Firman chassis is a good wet track car. Belling seems to always go very quickly in the wet. Wet tracks can always be a game changer.

Congrats to McLaughlin on the win!
on the fine victory.
And here's what I'm wondering... if the Firman's probable extra aero downforce was an advantage in the rain... or if the Citation's open diff (I think) didn't work so well in the rain, or well, whatever...
I really can't wait to hear people's debrief thoughts. Really, congratulations to all who were there to compete.

On the long road home at the moment. The GPS says 9:02 AM arrival at home
I decided to go to rains at about the last minute. The track wasn't drying as quickly as I expected. The rains that I have are a decent bit different diameter than the slicks that we use. It the process of changing what we could change in the time that we had, I completely screwed up the mechanical balance of the car. I had massive understeer in the slow bits. I got the aero changes about right since the car was somewhat better in the faster stuff. Live and learn.
We got the car going quite well in the dry and have been able to continue to trim aero downforce off the car for the dry setup.
Congrats to Bill for driving a mistake free race and taking a deserving June Sprints win!
