For Sale Swift DB-6 FF For Sale

National winning Formula Ford package built to compete for the Run Off's title.
. Complete fresh Loyning, dyno time and 3 race weekends only. This motor is STRONG!
. Porter Racing suspension / shock package / set up
. Fast Forward uprights , floating rotors
. New AIM GPS system
. Lightest body work
. New fuel cell
. New aluminum radiator
. 2 Sets OZ Mag Wheels
. 2 spare noses
. New radios, 1 for the car and 2 for the crew.
. A complete set of gears in the Pegasus wood gear container, many of the gears are new.
. Many new Hyperco springs which have not been out of the box yet.
. One set of mounted light weight Goodyear’s with one heat cycle, one set of mounted light weight Goodyear’s new. One set of new intermediates and one set of Rains on center lock Panasports, all properly stored in air-conditioning.
. Best of the best, no expense had been spared on this car.
. Car originally prepped and cared for by Auto Spa.
. New A-arms with internal brake lines just received from Ray at ProTech along with 2 very trick rear aero-tube toe links also with internal brake lines, not yet installed on car.
. A bunch of spares and then some, several new custom machined parts and tools.
. 28’ Legend trailer (always stored inside) with new Pit-Pal tire racks and nitrogen tank brackets still in the box’s.
. New set-up pad with new LongAcre Computer Scales.
. This car was immaculate and race ready when I bought it and it still is, with several improvements. It has been maintained by a former A.J. Foyt crew chief and no expense has been spared since I purchased it to make it the very best. This is a very fast car and you will not be disappointed.

This package is everything that you could dream of to have one of the fastest FF's in the country, and it all must go. I would prefer (if possible) not to separate.
I have well over 70K invested in it all and I know that I’ll never get anywhere near that kind of money for the car, trailer and spares, so please make an offer.

The first 55K takes it all, or best offer.

Thank you,
Marc

Default Great deal.

The previous owner of this car spared no expense using experienced professionals putting this car into a top Runoff's level of prep.

The asking price seems like a lot of money until you actually put together a no compromise package such as this one. Far more money and a ton of time and effort would be required to duplicate this package.

Anyone mulling a serious FF effort with the ultimate objective being a FF National Championship, this is the package for you.

Default Second thoughts

I’m thinking that I may hold on to the car now. It would give me something to work on over the winter, get all of the body panels lined up perfectly so she slips thru the air like a knife and some other little details just to have something to do other than my day job. I cut steel primarily for the oil industry so there is not a whole lot of excitement in my day to day activities.
I have raced all kinds of stuff over the years, but I have always loved FF and of all the cars I have ever owned, this is the one that I have always dreamed of owning. I remember how much fun I had with my DB1 back in 1992 and how many times I said to myself how I wish I had never sold that car. Now that I have this beautiful piece, I am starting to think, why sell it?

I am still on the fence about selling her. If someone wants to step up to the pump I still may consider letting her go, but there are still a few race tracks I would love to drive while I have a car this nice, Road America being one of them.
I keep getting tire kickers that want to explain “The Market” to me, but I really don’t care about “The Market”. I know what the car is worth to me and as long as everybody needs fuel to put in their cars and oil to keep everything running, I think the market is going to be just fine for me for many years to come, but then again nobody has a crystal ball when it comes to predicting oil futures. If someone out there knows something I don’t, please clue me in.

Default Market price

It sounds to me like the market is speaking. At least since July 20 when this post first appeared. The car is still for sale...

Buying this car or JT's car is cheaper than trying to replicate them. If your goal is to run up front at the Runoffs they are reasonably priced packages. If you want to have fun at your local track there are cheaper alteratives.

Marc,

Keep the car. You don't need a crystal ball to know that you would hate yourself if sold this beautiful ride.

The true love of a car is a terrible thing. THE SWIFT sits in the garage, it has served Cole and me well (only 170 races in the family since we bought it) and is the fastest Swift DB-6 FC in the country. No money to race but the thought of letting it go at any price is hard to consider, especially when you see great cars sold off to sit or worse become backmarkers.

I have sold great cars before only to see a repeat of the old classic Black Beauty thoroughbred sold to wrong owner becomes plowhorse.

Keep the car unless you get good value or better yet go racing.

Hi Marc,

I'd be interested in the OZ wheels (without tires) if you're willing to sell them separetly. What's the backspace and the drive pin diameter? I'd use them in a VDRF99.

I'd need them oto be shipped to Canada (Brantford, ON) though.

Thank you,

Sergio
