I'm running XP on my Mac (BootCamp), but do make sure you have the correct Mid Ohio version installed—NOT the one I had originally linked to up at the top of this thread.

OK - I'll remove the location folder for that track and reinstall from the link provided on this thread. The one I installed had 2 tracks, Chichane and no-chicane, I assume we are running No-chichane - Correct?

Yeah, I think you have the wrong track. I don't think the correct version has the two different layouts.

Actually Doug, I have the one w/ and w/o the chicane. Leaves me to think there is a firewall-ish issue.

Both Mid Ohio tracks have the chicane and no chicane. I practiced on the wrong track for a week (RFcentral MO). The Vitrua Mid Ohio is quite a bit different, now you guys can deal with lapping me tonight.

Doh!! I would suggest doing all practice on the server, Joe. The server is always up (if it's not let me know) in order to hotlap and confirm you're running the correct version. The only thing that changes for race day is that I turn the option for "invulnerability" off so that you can wreck and cause a performance issue with your car on race night. Otherwise you can hotlap in practice and run into a wall and not have to start your session over again.

Keith, you're making too much sense. I tried to get on the server and got booted. Not knowing any better I just continued to click laps off on the wrong track. It's all good, I won't be 12 seconds a lap off the pace tonight. I hadn't ever calibrated my pedals in Windows, so last week at Topeka I was only getting 3/4 throttle. I tested a lap with the keyboard and picked up 15mph on the straights. So pretty much I've made a diaster of RFactor. See you guys tonight.

Keith and I have also noticed slight lap time differences offline and online on the server. It's always best to do all of your practicing online, if possible, to get the closest behavior to race night. I don't practice at all offline, so I know exactly how the car will behave with all test and setup options.

I use the cockpit view, but disable the steering wheel showing up. I only have one steering wheel in my FF, don't need two here!

I think most guys use the cockpit view. I personally use the top of the helmet view to help give me more peripheral since I don't have buttons on my wheel mapped to look to the sides. I think Doug and a couple others may use the "follow" view so it's all a matter of preference. We don't force views for our league.

Are you still accepting new people to drive?

I did download the SRF v2.2 and the track for last week and seemed to be able to get on the server okay.

It looks like the next race is Barber?
I didn't find where to get that track (admittedly I gave up after a quick search).

Sure, you can still race with us. We would need to designate a skin for you to use so it doesn't conflict with anyone else which could lead to the same car being dropped on top of eachother in the pit stall. The next race is a week from tomorrow at Thunderhill so there's still time to practice. We race every other week.

Do I need to download something to see the custom skins that people have done?
I noticed last night that several other people's cars showed up as a generic under development car...

Yes, there's a link to the skin pack in the scrolling banner at the top of the hotlaps screen.
