There seems to be a slight difference in the times from the LIVE timing and the revised results sheet, but based on the results sheet from the first round and the LIVE timing from today's round, here's the order so far.

Mark,

The car must be working good. Nice work and my hat's off to you and the boys (and gal) at St. Claire. Wish I was there.

So - is the fuel worth the second difference?

Hey guys...

FCM is in the house and set-up here in the media tower. If you guys have any specific questions you want answered, serve them up and I'll see what I can do. Solid turnout in all the classes this year and the racing looks promising.

Rob, FF questions, what happened to Justin in yesterdays Qualifying? Why did John Larue miss yesterdays session and why did Sauce get his Tuesday qual time tossed out Thanks! -Dave

P.S. if you could file a little report about whats going on today about FC,FF cause not much is being written over at the SCCA webpage so far.

Larue had to attend the IRL test down in Homestead yesterday. He'll be back today for another shot at a good time - the setup was definetely off on Tuesday from what I've talked with him over the phone.

Justin most likely decided that his time he set on Tuesday was safe & was just scrubbing tires.

Rob - I'll take you up on that offer!
1) To what do you attribute the record lap times? Weather? Fuel? Driver Skill?
2) Do you have any comments/insight on a couple NorthEast guys: Tom Fatur (10th this AM) and Doug Kniffin (15th)?

Thanks! Wish I was there!

Tim and Charles came through to make me look good! Peaking at the right time.
I went back and read the first thing I posted to kick off this thread back on August 20th and I seemed to have gotten the first two rows right, although not exactly in the positions I thought.

Seriously... this is going to be one great race. My hat is off to all those up there.

There is no guy there that I wouldn't mind seeing win the thing. If I was betting, I'd be hedging all my bets.

Hey Guys,

Like Rob I'm here working away in the media center, in fact Rob is my chauffeur for the weekend.

To answer of the few questions. With regards to the record breaking times, a few things are making the difference according to various drivers. Rain before the event helped clean the track and by the time qualifying commenced the right mix of rubber laid down. This combined with the ideal conditions during the first session certainly helped. In addition, several drivers have reported the grooving has definitely provided more grip in the corners.

With regards to LaRue and Pritchard, LaRue was as stated at Homestead for the IRL road test, while pritchard elected to pit in the second session after only doing a few laps.

Can't wait for the races to start.

Cheers,

Al.

I just got back from Pritchard's pit and had a chance to speak with Justin, Don and Gib. They were working away finishing up the front-end. After timing in so well out of the box, I guess they pushed the set-up a bit yesterday and it did not work at all. Justin was not happy at all...neither were Don or Gib. They've dialed it back and little and I expect them to be quick today.

Al was bang on with the track. A 'washed' surface, comined with the track grinding and the cool temps worked. In FC, Defer has been the most consistent and looks good..he's in a good place mentally and will be fast. Tomasi had a run-in with another car at the end of the session and went off. Shafer wasn't able to go any quicker.

I'll check on the other stuff if I have time. Just trying to figure out where everyone is pitted right now.

Richard, thanks for the info, I forgot about John's brake business, it's also good to see Chuck doing well, he's due for a good result at the runoff's.

Rob,Al thanks for the reports, it's appreciated by us working stiffs stuck here at work this week. -Dave

Thanks, Keith.

Isn't the FC race traditionally on Sunday? I wonder what prompted the move to Saturday. . .

How about John Hill in DSR and CSR. Pole in DSR and 3rd in CSR with the same car. I wonder if that has ever been done before.
The times for all classes have been fantastic. CSR, DSR, FF, FC and FA all look like they could be great races. I wish they were televised live.

Hi all,

Well once again thanks must go out to Rob St. Clair and the entire St. Clair Motorsports gang for the party on Thursday night. While I didn't spend as much time as I would have liked there, I had good time and everyone looked to be having fun. Only downside of the night was sitting in the security shack till 2 am, while the police dealt with the looser who sucker punched Rob. Now it's time to go racing.

Cheers,

Al.

Hmm. I guess Chas wasn't going to be satisfied with second place?

That's just a guess from watching live timing. He was slowly catching Brian (the leader), then dropped down the charts on the last lap.

I'm sure he wouldn't be satisfied with 2nd. I wonder if he got up to Brian as Brian's last lap was slow also but not near as bad as the other guys.

Congrats to all!

Tomassi: Flat-out hooked up and flying. Fantastic!

DW : Not bad for an old fart! (Must have been Sherri's chili!)

Defer: Best finish yet? Great job! You owe Matt a case of Tequila!

Silver: Hell of an effort on a real short shoestring! Who says that you have to have the latest and greatest to do well! My hat's off to you!

Chas: Heartbreak city. Second was looking soooo sure!

Great runs by all!

Report from the Saturday nite SCCA 60 th anniversary party:

1. Mike Sauce can pick and sing as good as Eric Clapton.

2. Who would have thought that Sandy could have given John Travolta dancing lessons.

Great show by both of you guys.

3. The rest of the stuff didn't matter.

Thought I would chime in to clarify why our (Brian Belardi's) times we dissalowed. It wasn't 1 inch it was 1cm to wide from wing foot to wing foot. The distance from wing foot to wing foot is suppose to be 135 cm and ours was 136 cm. That measurement is taken at the furthest point back or closest to the driver. Be careful if you bend an end plate on your wings because if it's bent out at all it's going to be over the 135 cm width.

We lost all brakes in the 3rd lap of the session and came in so it wasn't a big issue having our times dissalowed as we only ran a 1:27.???

The bad part is that was the only good session we had with clean track.

For our first Runoffs, it was a blast, sometimes a bit overwelming but was fun and a great learning experience

Special thanks and congrats to Brian and Tony Tomasi.

Great job Dave and Mark, these guy's are class acts.

Thanks all
