I'm planning it. We've been working on our car and hope to have a setup worth towing 24 hours!

Schweitz is planning to attend.
Probably just waiting for the rats in his computer to drag the box with his entry over.
Scratch me. I've decided not to go.

Anyone got a diff my boy can use for this event?
C'mon Russ, just do it!!
Added Schwietz to the list. #9
We had 12 cars last year. Anybody else considering making the trip?
Some crazy Italian is smacking me here. It's gonna take more than a diff to get me there!
About to get the green flag to make the June Sprints.....can anyone tell me what the sound police are like at Road America? Out here on the left coast they're real tough, oh and the youngest person running the meter could be my grandpa.
We blew the sound meter at T-Hill and got DQ'd on the 2nd to last lap of the Dbl. Nat in March. Just tryin' to get an idea if the super charger should come off....LOL.
Help

i dont remember anyone at the runoffs having sound issues.crook was running a strait pipe all the way tell the second q day.
Boy, if you had trouble at T-hill, don't even think about running at Laguna Seca! Most of the cars that I have worked on have no problem at T-hill but have lots of problems at Laguna; one car wound up with no less than three mufflers with the pipe out the left side and still had to short shift to stay out of the powerband going by the sound station.

Gary,
The supps say 103db you should not have a problem with a small muffler.
Mike B and I are planning to try and make room for you to paddock with us.
Haven't seen a lot of people with sound problems at Road America events.
At the CAT National several people were reading loud in the FB group so the stewards decided to not black flag anyone. That's Milwaukee region, but there is a lot of crossover. The Chicago Region runs a good event.
The NAPA in plymouth also has turnouts.

Do you know which side the mic is on at RA...drivers R/L??
We blew 104 at T-Hill twice and then 105. Running a 12" Coast Fab muffler with Stailess Steel packing now. Everyone had problems in the FB group....cost me a decent finish.
Big thing we did last Nat. at Button Willow was remove the foam sock air filter we had and put a standard automotive type paper element filter. Tony said at Button Willow the car was much quieter. We think the air box was contributing to the excess noise.

Driver's left exiting T3 IIRC.
Gary, you're a smart guy. Why don't you make some kind of noise canceling device for your car? If you get it right your car will sound like the Audi LMP car - just a whoosh sound of the car pushing air out of the way and the tires rolling over the pavement as it goes by. You'll have the sound guys scratching their heads and checking their equipment .
You're welcome.
Please keep in mind that the so-called "sound police" are there for several reasons, not the least of which is to try to keep tracks from getting shut down and turned into condos--i.e. they are trying to ensure that you still have somewhere to race.
I speak from some experience on this, having been part of a mad scramble to try to keep an SCCA national from getting shut down mid-stream by track ownership due to sound issues. Our local sound guys went WAY above-and-beyond the call that day to make sure that didn't happen.
Of course, they are also there to try to protect everyone's health and safety. As a part-time musician and music-lover who values my hearing very highly, I'm awfully glad those guys are willing to spend their weekends doing what they do.
I understand it's a hassle, particularly with widely varying sound requirements at different tracks and with the huge impact environmental conditions can have on sound readings. Just keep in mind that those guys are on your side.

Hope to see all of you at the SR/FB party at Critter's tent on Friday night.
Mike,
Where is Critter's paddock spot?
What do people like me or other F1000 dudes need to bring?
For those that haven't experienced the Mike Devins soire, I highly recommend you make the time on Friday. Bear in mind that he is wrenching on Clark's LSR so this one might be a bit more subdued. You'll still like it...

I know that Coop is in his paddock but not sure where he is yet.
Dave Knaack's crew is doing some Jambalaya, Lindstrands are doing potatoes and I'll be doing something with chicken.
Feel free to bring along a dish to pass but I know that is just tough at the track.
So far this is BYOB and a chair to sit in.
See you there.
I'm with Critter; we're in the flat paddock (south?) area behind competition paddock.
Hey Coop, Critter texted me and said that he was in the West Paddock but did not know the number.
anyone come from the Phoenix area?
