Default rFactor League Race #3 - Mosport

For our third event on Feb 24th, we go from the flat venue of Autobahn to the hilly and fast location of Mosport. Racing will be fast paced for sure!

In what time period does this six pack have to be consumed? I have for some reason become a sissy drinker recently....don't know why.

I got bored last night inbetween machining spindles and trying out Mosport for the first time. Here are the unofficial points from the first two events.

    Cheers,

Nice work, Jacques! That keeps me from having to do it!

By the way, I want your Gurney Eagle.

I'll post my Mosport setup later today for anyone that wants to try out a pretty decent, stable setup. I think it's capable of a 1:11.000 and maybe a tick quicker with the right driver (read: someone not named Doug). If I get lucky, I might be able to knock another couple of tenths off before the race. I don't see anyone going too much quicker than Colin already has. This place is already almost flat out for the whole damn track.

Get a good, stable, moderately fast setup going here—it's going to be very important to be smooth for long durations here, especially in traffic. There are few places to pass and even fewer places to rest. It's going to be a very tough race, to say the least.

    Track maps posted, too...

No problem Doug, I get antsy whenever points aren't updated within 2 minutes of a race, so I had to do something. I'll do it for the season.

We'll have the DGF at all the CenDiv Nationals this year, as our aim is run it at the Runoffs in FF. I'll let you ride my Gurney Eagle Monoshock BMX bike at the track if you wish.

Chris S: I coud use a set up, I seem to be way off pace.

My current setup, has already run a 1:11.6XX at Mosport. Should be capable of more, too.

OK guys I'll try to make this race. I practiced for Autobahn and when got to be around 9pm I was like huh, I'm really bored I'll get on iRacing (me and Pat Gallagher went to drivers school together, so we race each other on iRacing a lot) rFactor completely skipped my mind, but I'll be there this race.

    See you there!

Awesome, 2 more shots of me pointing anywhere but forward. LOL.

We need to get our helmets in the right folders for you, Jacques. It will make it easier to see that Keith is leading and I'm bouncing into the wall.

Haha, I've opened up the files before in your team folder, but I'm not sure exactly why they are not working. It seems to be the same for everyone though.

    Default wingless...

yeah Jacques - that was me. and sometimes clueless too.

being that was my second race and i don't get a chance to get on much when there are a lot of cars on track - i did notice something. when another car gets close to your's, whether you closing in or being closed in on. steering seems to suffer, i assume warping. this does not seem to be dirty air off of wings, cause the feel when you are playing in-game vrs on-line is different. in qualifying i went squirrelly twice and crashed. and in the race - same thing, my big crash came while coming up to lap a slower car in the fast s's before the front straight and the steering just went bonkers. it feels like you lost force feed back. this must be happening to others. is there some advice anyone can give to set controls, wheel or setup to minimize this?
also, i noticed under controls/rates. two settings:
speed sensitivity and exaggerate yaw. what do this do? and, which way do you go on the scale 0 to 100% to give you what results?
as the song says - working on mystery's without any clues...

What a wonderful picture you got me and my skills.....ugh. At least I had my wings on at that point.

As for the helmets, my helmet was coming up grey, when it is in fact yellow. I was wondering should we do a new skin upgrade pack for the next race? I see Jacques is using the skin he made for me, anyone else see that one or just him?

We don't need a new skin pack. There have been issues viewing custom helmets on other cars for as long as I've been using rFactor. Not a big deal in my opinion.
