In order to allow people enough time to practice leisurely and not have to put in a lot of time within a week to get up to speed for the next track, we're doing a race every other week. We can do practice races or something on the off week if you want, but if it gets too confusing with what races matter for points, then we'll drop it.

Matt, I'm going to try to have all of our skins ready tonight or tomorrow. At least you'll be able to get yours into your own game and Keith can get them on the server.

When we email the zip file do we just have to send the paint file or should we change the team name and such?

You should set up everything in the file as you want it to appear. I think the only thing Keith will alter is the pit stalls so there are no overlaps.

Matt, Keith has all of our new skins, including yours. As soon as he updates the pit stall locations for everyone, he'll upload it to his FTP for everyone to use.

I haven't been able to modify and make some personal touches to the skin Colin made for me. I don't suppose I could send the file to someone so they can put a number on it?

    Brands Hatch GP Circuit
    Length: 2.301 miles (3.703 km)
    Direction: Clockwise
    Corners: 9
The full Grand Prix circuit begins on the Brabham Straight, an off-camber, slightly curved stretch, before plunging into the right-hander at Paddock Hill Bend. Despite the difficulty of the curve, due to the straight that precedes it, it is one of the track's few overtaking spots. The next corner, Druids, is a hairpin bend, negotiated after an uphill braking zone at Hailwood Hill.

The track then curves around the south bank spectator area into the downhill, off-camber Graham Hill Bend, and another, slightly bent stretch at the Cooper Straight, which runs parallel to the pit lane. After the straight, the circuit climbs uphill though the decreasing-radius Surtees turn, before moving onto the back straight where the track's top speeds can be reached. The most significant elevation changes on the circuit occur here at Pilgrim's Drop and Hawthorn Hill, which leads into Hawthorn Bend.

The track then loops around the woodland with a series of mid-speed corners, most notably the dip at Westfield and the blind Sheene's curve. The track then emerges from the woods at Clearways and rejoins the 'Indy' circuit for Clark Curve with its uphill off-camber approach to the pit straight and the start/finish line.

Hi guys, I got Brands Hatch Indy to download. But my menu looks like this under Brands hatch.
    -Brands hatch 2005
    -Brands Hatch 2005
    -Brands Hatch Indy 2005

I think instead of the second Brands hatch 2005, there should be Brands Hatch GP 2005.

I downloaded the track again, but i can't get GP to work.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

Steve, you should just be installing the 1.01 version and not the original. All you need is the latest track file. I'd start over, wipe out that Brands Hatch folder in your Locations folder completely and re-install the v1.01 track.

Yes, install the track, then the 1.01 patch.

There is a great track install tutorial here. Might help.

Hmmmm. the track selection looks the same, but when I switch between Indy, and Brands Hatch 2005 the info about the track, and the 3 pics on the left change, but the track layout stays the same.
    Summit Point doesn't load either.
I put the files on my desktop, opened them with Winzip, then extracted the GP and Indy files to their respective folders under Locations>Brands_2005.

Summit point I did the same, except all files went under Locations>Summit Point

I'll probably end up sitting this one out. unless I figure it out the 27th then have 20mins to practice and stumble around during the race.

Thanks Keith, the 8pm cst really helps me. i got the track to work...Im an idiot, I was making my own folders for the files, instead of letting it make them itself. So I got Summit Point while I was at it. SP is really, really weird, and accuracy is "eh" at best.

I tried downloading the FV, but I couldn't get it to work, I'm just happy I figured out what I was doing wrong for the tracks.

I got a 1.23.8 at BH, Ill take it for my 1st time out.

    Cheers,

    Default Dis someone say setups?

Ok, considering the race is tonight, and it still looks like some guys are floundering with the new rF3 and it's quirky driving habits in the default setup, I figured it's time to post a setup for the peeps who want to play. Having not used this car before ever, it took me some time in the warm up tracks to get an idea of what changes needed to be done to get this thing to be a little less, um... sensitive. It's still a car that can get away from you if you overdrive it, but it's far more stable now, and you can actually catch it if it starts to get loose on you.

This setup has run in the low 1:18s here on low fuel loads and fresh tires, so it should be good for at least high 1:19s during the race on a good, steady pace. This setup is my RACE setup with a bit heavier fuel load and a little less aggressive of a setup. For this to work in-game, it should be placed in your rFactor folder here:

Programs --> rFactor --> User Data --> Your Name --> Settings --> Brands Hatch GP

For those of you without a whole lot of laps on this car, I'd recommend tuning with the front wing and front springs to dial the car in to your liking.

    Hope this helps a bit.

And for those of you using the MoTec plug-in for in-game data acquisition, I had the data acq turned on for a low 1:19 lap attached below. You should at least be able to tell where to brake and where not to brake from this session.

As a side note, I believe you need both of those .lx and .ldx files for the data to work in the Motec data software.

Keith was going to post something this morning, but it doesn't look like he did.

I believe the same as last year:

    • 5 minutes of flying open poll qualifying
    • 5 minutes of warm-up
    • 1 pace lap
    • standing start
    • 30 race laps

If I'm wrong, Keith will set it all straight online in a few.

Nah, was a mess for the most part. The first race usually is. I was preoccupied trying to get everyone to not get booted from the server with 10 seconds before the green flag. There were people leaving saying "brb" with 5 seconds to go before the green flag. A test race should have probably been done before, but getting everyone together to make sure there won't be any issues on real race day is a chore in itself. It's a long season and we drop the two lowest points races for everyone to help out (if I can figure out how to do it with the points software). It's not a professional sim league and nobody is paying to play so there are going to be hiccups along the way especially since I'm pretty much doing this on my own as far as administering the whole thing. Some things will work the same way we did things last season and some things won't. I still haven't figured it all out yet.

I was one of those brb wonders.
I thought we had a couple a minutes and had to adjust the graphics settings lower, couldnt do it while on the server.
