It has been talked about over the last few years. I have not heard of any completed conversions older than 96 chassis.
I think a drawback is that no one wants to spend 1,000+ hours on a conversion of an older rocker arm chassis.
But if you have the car, have the donor bike, and know how to weld... i've done crazier things.
Some problems involve how Adrain designed the frame rails and roll hoop configuration. It adds to the challenge to "chop off" the chassis at the rear of the fuel cell and end up with a stiff frame. Later cars have a defined structural bulkhead behind the fuel cell, making it an easier disection point.
Also the rear rockers allow little room to fit a large chain sprocket. Not impossible.
Go for it.
There is a guy here in the west that has a 83 Reynard F1000.
