Well, it turned out to be an interesting weekend at Road Atlanta. Three showed up to play in CFC, Dowis, Aiken & Monfort. Dowis and Monfort got the most out of practice, running trouble free, but Aiken was sidelined again with more battery problems. The new battery shorted out and created a hot seat for Aiken. Dowis did have one slight problem as his tailpipe tried to exit stage left, but stayed on long enough to finish practice. In qualifying, some of Aiken's bad luck rubbed off on Dowis as the quick repair on the tail pipe failed and the pipe completely fell off in turn 6, thus endind his qualifying efforts. Dowis did manage to qualify 10th overall and 2nd in class. Aiken qualified 6th overall and 1st in class while Monfort rounded out the top three. In the race Dowis continued to have bad luck. The tail pipe was retrieved and welded this time, but problems were not over for Dowis. On the start, Dowis was out of the gates on fire, passing three cars, but stuck his nose in a little too far under a Radical in turn six. They got together and both cars spun. Both cars were ok, but Dowis couldn't get his stopped in time and backed it into the gravel trap. Aiken's bad luck finally went away as he managed a much needed win and Monfort stayed out of trouble and brought home second.

On another note. Richard Aiken was having a great weekend. Some minor motor issues slowed things down a bit in testing, but they managed to get the problems fixed with some borrowed parts and things were looking up for Aiken. Based on testing times, he had a good shot to qualify 3rd or 4th in FC, but his foot got a little heavy in five. As he tried to stay out of the grass on the exit of five, the car spun and he backed it into the inside wall, removing the rear wing with surgical precision. Aiken's weekend was over, as no spare wings were available at the track.

On to Daytona.
