Default 2009 F1000 Championship Prize Payout

After long last, here it is: the payout for the 2009 F1000 Championship presented by George Dean Racing Engines and Taylor Race Engineering.

For series-registered drivers, the season-long F1000 Championship points fund will pay as follows:
    1st place- $1000
    2nd place- $800
    3rd place- $600
    4th place- $400
    5th place- $200
    6th place through 10th place- $100 each

Remember, this is based on regular season points (6 best results), plus bonus points for each driver finishing behind, plus double points at the ARRC. Regular season points can be found at www.formula1000.com.

In addition to prize money for points scored, each driver that entered a national race or the ARRC, will receive $25.

Rilltech/Speads has put up $1000 for the driver that wins the June Sprints, his/her division, and the ARRC. It’s called the Rilltech Hat Trick and by virtue of his win at the June Sprints and clinching the SE Division title, Glenn Cooper has already won $500. If he wins the ARRC, Rilltech/Speads will give him another $500. If not, the $500 will roll over to the 2010 Championship points fund.

Specific to the season finale race during the ARRC at Road Atlanta, the following prizes are up for grabs:

    • The winner, regardless of series registration, will receive $500.
    • The pole winner will receive $100, courtesy of eformulacarnews.com
    • Quicksilver RaceEngines has created the Quicksilver RacEngines Quick Lap Award – The driver that turns the quickest lap of the weekend in any officially timed session (Q1, Q2, or race) will receive $200.
    • The Hard Charger of the race will receive a $100 product credit courtesy of Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies.
    • The Hard Luck award (last place of all race starters) will receive an Indy-style jack courtesy of Gyrodynamics.

REMINDER: If you're registered or plan to register, please send me a brief bio that I can pass on to the track announcer and the various media outlets that will be covering the event.

Great work, Mike. I'm sure this is the result of a lot of work behind the scenes, and from great support from the sponsors you've listed. F1000 has steadily grown with impressive backing from great companies (and people), who apparently believe, like we do, that F1000 is on its way to being a hugely popular class.

Your hard work is appreciated and the class is growing faster because of your efforts.

It's time to put an exclamation point on the 2009 F1000 Championship presented by George Dean Racing Engines and Taylor Race Engineering.

By now, everyone should know that Glenn Cooper is the series champion, earning $1000 for the effort. Congratulations, Glenn! Unfortunately, Glenn was not successful in winning the Hat Trick Award presented by Rilltech Racing. However, he did pocket $500 for winning the June Sprints and his division.
The rest of the prize money-paying positions for the season-long F1000 Championship are:

    2nd place- Brandon Dixon -$800
    3rd place- Mark Jaremko -$600
    4th place- David Burkett -$400
    5th place- Chris Waterman -$200
    6th place- John Stecher - $100
    7th place- Gary Hickman -$100
    8th place- Niki Coello -$100
    9th place- James Michael -$100
    10th place - Jeremy Hill - $100

Niki Coello was the other big winner of the weekend:

    • His victory at the ARRC is worth $500.
    • Winning the pole is worth $100, courtesy of eformulacarnews.com
    • Turning the fastest lap of the weekend (1:21.735 in Q2) is worth $200, courtesy of Quicksilver RacEngines.

Jerry Freeman will receive a $100 product credit courtesy of Pegasus Auto Racing Supplies for winning the Hard Charger Award. He started 13th and finished 8th (getting down to a 1:34 in the process!)

Bill McLaughlin Jr. won the Hard Luck award (last place of all race starters) and will receive an Indy-style jack courtesy of Gyrodynamics.

Those prizes that weren't awarded at the track will be mailed this week.

Congratulations to all the prize winners and competitors, and many big thanks to the sponsors for the generosity. This is an especially tough year for vendors to be sponsoring prizes.
I'm not racing in F1000 (yet!) but I think we're all winners when I see the camaraderie and supportive spirit of this class.
