Default Nov Fastrack re: FA engines

    Dave Gomberg:

    2 questions:

    1) do the CSR eng rules officially apply to FA ?

    2) please confirm 4-cyl, 4 valve engines under 2000cc are allowed under 10/ CR, or 33mm SIR.

    Many thanks,
    Bill

If you read the "fine print", you will see that both the CSR and FA engine tables are referenced. It is only the section header that is incorrect (it should have included both classes).

2 valve (Line K, CSR, Line D, FA)
    Under 2000cc, unrestricted
Under 2500cc and under 9:1 CR, unrestricted; otherwise 33mm SIR.

4 valve (Line L, CSR, Line E, FA)
Under 2000cc and under 10:1 CR, unrestricted; otherwise 33mm SIR
Under 2500cc and under 9:1 CR, unrestricted; otherwise 31mm SIR.

FYI: while these are new to FA, they already are used in CSR (but we didn't get it right in the table). In fact, the Runoffs winner in CSR this year ran an under 2000cc, under 10:1, 4 valve engine. If you watch the SpeedCastTV coverage of the race, you will see he and the next three cars (all Toyota 4AGEs) ran very similarly.
