Runoffs Early Registration Ends Friday Night


TOPEKA, Kan. - Aug. 25, 2009: Early registration for the 2009 SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Road America will end at 11:59 p.m. (Central time) on Friday, Aug. 28. Drivers are encouraged to register for the 46th edition of the National Championship Runoffs soon before the entry fee increases by $200.

Currently, the early registration fee for Runoffs is $400. After Aug. 28, the entry fee will increase to $600. Drivers can register online at www.scca.com by selecting the “Club Racing” tab at the top of the page, and then selecting “National Championship Runoffs” from the left-side menu. A printable PDF entry form is also available to mail or fax.

Once registered for the Runoffs, entrants can register for the joint SCCA/Road America hosted test day on Monday, Sept. 21. The test day is included in the Runoffs registration day, but will be capped at 300, with preference going to drivers with the most consecutive years of Runoffs participation. As of Aug. 25, there are approximately 50 spots remaining for the Sept. 21 test day. A waiting list will be established once the cap is met. The joint test day follows a week of Road America test days, held Sept. 14 – 20. More information on Road America test days is available at the Road America Web site: www.roadamerica.com.


SCCA National Championship Runoffs®
The SCCA National Championship Runoffs®, The Pinnacle of American Motorsports, will crown Sports Car Club of America’s Club Racing National Champions for the 46th-consecutive year in 2009. The best amateur drivers from across North America convene on Road America’s historic four-mile road course for the first time this year in what is considered the “Olympics” of motorsports. This year’s event begins with three days of qualifying, Sept. 22-24, and concludes with three days of racing, Sept. 25-27.
