I'm worried about buying an older FC and not having anywhere to race it. I heard at the meeting last winter there was talk of cutting out CFC in the SeDiv ,has anyone heard this talk
this winter? If CFC is cut out is there any chance of running good with an older car in FC?

Thanks Mark

Mark:

While there is no debate about the superiority of a pushrod car over a rocker car, on a Regional level the Reynards do very well for themselves.

I ran an 88' Swift SE-3 this past year in the SE Division and did pretty well in it once I worked out the typical bugs that go with buying an older car. We plan on running it next year w/ a different driver. There is also a very good Reynard for sale on this site by Purple Frog. If the numbers were anything like this past years, I don't think the CFC class is going anywhere.

CFC was on probation in the SEDIV during 2001. The powers to be wanted to see higher attendence figures. Talking to the regional execs, it does appear that it will still be voted in as a class during 2002 at the January Division Meeting. We had fairly good showings at most SARRC events all season, with as many as 8 entries per event. (They have a minimum at around 4 - 5)
During the year we had at least 3 new cars show, and a lot of others came back into service.
At the moment I can think of 12 cars currently being campaigned. I think we will have a class, considering this time last year we could count about 4.
