    Default LD200 Gears wanted FF/FC

    Hello folks,

Looking for the following used gearsets in very good to excellent condition. Application is Formula Ford, so they don't need to be 'M' gears (though I certainly won't object if they are...) Hewland or Webster works.

A PM is fine as is a note to erikshep <at> yahoo.com.

    Thanks,
    Erik

    Shep,

This is a bit of a "Da" question but what's the difference between "M" gears and "other" gears?

    Thanks

    Default Made me think

    Hi,

Not a duh question at all - you just made me wonder if I was stuck in a Mk9 state of mind and that my request didn't apply to LD200 gears. But a review of the Craig Taylor posts...

    http://www.apexspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4697
    http://www.apexspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?p=8557
    http://www.apexspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?p=106736

...has me thinking that all gear applications went through the material and design upgrades listed in the posts above.

Probably doesn't apply as much these days - now that so many years have passed, it's likely that most of what is out there for the LD200 is newer than 1993 manufacture, and therefore made with the tougher (though not as long wearing) material. Granted, as Craig stated, the FC gears should be life limited anyway, and probably thrown out after a certain duration of use.
