When I picked up my old '84 from Rock 3 years ago it was sitting on Goodyears. Rock said start out with 14 lb. in the front, and 16 lb. in the rear. So I did. And I have moved around a half pound here and there. I seem to get hot readings of 15.5 front and 17.5 rear.
When I switched to Hoosiers last year, the rep said set them like you do the Goodyears, but don't let them get over 20 lbs. or they will dome in the middle. So I set them 14/16, and went faster.
Now I have an opportunity to run some scrubbed Avons. My non-expert guess is that they are stiffer in terms of spring rate. Anyone have a suggestion as to starting tyre pressures? Avon says best hot performance is around 19-20 lbs. I'm guessing that I might start at 17/18 and see how they warm up.
    Any insight would be appreciated.

It was a thread from December, you'd have to dig back in the forum pretty far. Here is a direct link to the thread.

    Good luck,
