    Default Changes.

I think with the change in Washington, a lot of what we all considered "status quo" is going to change. Environmental issues are not going to be back burnered like they were for so long under the Bush Administration. I think environmental regulation is going to gain serious new momentum in the coming years. Lots of changes.

    Thanks Jim,

Not to change things, but I have thousands of hours in BE-18's, DC-3's C-46 commandos, etc. As a DC-10 Captain today, that stick and rudder never fails.

If I could only apply that to racing, maybe a couple seconds here or there.

Isn't the correct statement: It hasn't failed yet!

C-46 - My dad also had thousands of hours in the C-46, all across the Pacific in WWII & Korea... Don't run into too may that even know what it is .

Back to the normally scheduled program...

    Default Lead Vs Unleaded

I know I'm a bit slow, its all to do with where we live in the world.... but, foregive me if I'm wrong, unleaded meant to go with a cat, and as most race cars don't have cats, this puts a more potent brew into the air, and as a by way, we still use the good Av Gas here for classic racing, we don't have the 100ll and its great, but all other classes must use unleaded, and we now have a 39 page book that tells you how to fuel your car at the track so there is a lot PC bull**** going down here as well, this can be veiwed on the Motorsport New Zealand web site for those who maybe interested I'm not sure just how to post a link, but I guess that sort of thing will be coming to track near you! ( Big and Rich, check it out)

Correction: AV gas has a Reid vapor pressure range of 5.5 to 7 psi. Gasoline is typically higher, ranging from 7 to 9 psi in the summer, and even higher (~12) in the winter.

Don’t let BTU/lb or BTU/gallon specs fool you. Unless you are competing in an endurance race where fuel economy is more important than horsepower, the important spec for power output is “BTU per standard cubic inch of air:fuel vapor.” Thus, in addition to energy density, the effects of air:fuel ratio and latent heat of vaporization are taken into consideration.
