Mylaps is seldom updated any earlier than the end of the day, certainly not real time. Depending on the region, it may not be updated for several days after the event.

The sports racers are in the same Group, right? Here are their Q results:

Coop will have some cars between him & Jordan at the start, but it wouldn't surprise me AT ALL if Coop got up to Jordan by T2. That opinion/prediction is based partially on Coop's ARRC T1 pass into 2nd place at the FB championship race last Nov. He makes me feel like such a wimp driver.
Maybe we'll be treated to a Purple Frog update in a few hours...

Nice pics....Interesting that McLaughlin has a Dihedral front wing on his Stohr and I also see he has the carb. air intake partially blocked off with tape..... That's interesting...

Hi all,
Yep, motor blew up in spectacular fashion. Bill was generous enough to let me borrow one so we spent all night friday night and sat morning making an 06 motor fit where an 07 once was. I got one practice lap sat before an electrical issue turned the fuel pump off. I ran about half of the qualifing session however the motor wasn't running right and I didn't want to hurt the motor. I'll still run the race and hope to finish as long as the motor doesn't get too hot. I think I'll go home and take up golf after this.... Or maybe I can get a good deal on one of those awsome RFR cars.....
Taylor will be starting on the inside of Row 3 in the RFR 1000. The Coop will be right beside him on the outside of Row 3. Should make for a very entertaining first lap.
Ken
Very perceptive of you....yes they've been busy trying to make some aero changes. I saw this car on display at the PRI SHOW in Dec. Bill had it in his GO KART BOOTH. I spent a few minutes talking with him about some of the short comings of the Stohr chassis. It was sporting some pretty nifty bodywork then...they need to cut that scoop down. AND WHEN is someone going to get smart and put some ARB's on this chassis, I feel it would help the handling considerably.

You wanted a side shot of Mclaughlin's Sthor...
Mrs Frog found this one.

I would think that Roebling is a downforce and not an aero slippy track so I can't imagine the airbox means crap here...it'd be mechanical and aero grip or driver being the limiting factor in any car.
God all you bastards make me jealous and sick of living here in the great white north...your racing and we have 6 inches of snow coming tomorrow.
Have fun guys...I am envious to no end.

Thanks for the side shot. It must have been just an illusion to me.
Can't wait to hear how everything goes tomorrow!
Ken
Update:
No suspension failures . Frame updates are working.
Little front grip. New trick front wing is helping both in aero (mph) and grip.
Doing what we can, planning to throw the kitchen sink at it Sunday.

Any photos of this weekends Formula F1000 racing will be greatly appreciated so I can add them to the F1000 owner/driver gallery/website:

Mclaughlin's Sthor burned in the carosel during morning warmup. Driver OK.
That sucks. I hope there is not too much damage. Happy to hear driver is ok.
Ken
Guess throwing the kitchen sink at it, may not been the right thing to do
Crank broke, then it slung a rod.
Jr. is upset, but OK.
Thanks
SR.

Sorry to read about McNitt and McLaughlins engine problems(hmm....does that fact that both are Mc have anything to do with it?) I am curious...do the DSRs have as much problem with blown engines and if not then why not?
If you want some insite on what it takes to make these engines live go talk with some of the DSR guys that have been around for a while. They all tell me you have to gear them so your'e not running to close to redline all the time. It's been my experience so far that smooth down shifts are key also...you can't engine brake these things or they won't survive.
I have a theory on the stressed engine part of this also....some will argue the number Nat. Champs that have won on a certain "Stressed Engine" DSR chassis...but at what cost?
The cars I see with few eng. problems have very robust engine bays...IMO

My water temp stays around 190 but my oil gets to 300. It gets over 290 by the second lap and feels like the motor starts to lay down afterwards. I think this is my main problem. Also, I have my shift light set at 13000. After talking to Cooper I'm convinced that I need to bring that down to around 12000. I'm going dry sump SOON and hope that will bring down the oil temp. At this point I'd love to hear any opinions / advice. I'm also looking at going with bigger pods / radiators. I just want to get past the motor problems so I can work on going faster.... I have a 20 hour ride home to think about it. On the bright side, I was amazed at how awsome the guys in this class are. Bill let me use a motor, Leon Mitchell has bent over backwards to help us, Cooper is a class act, and Ralph spent at least an hour talking to us. I wish I could have ran the race, if nothing else just to help the class with car count. Good luck to Glenn and the RFR guys.
Jordan Taylor took the RFR to its first victory!
Unofficial results :
Jordans best lap 1:05:5
Glenn Cooper best lap 1:06:5
Glenn led the first few laps then Jordan got by underneath in 4, he went on to a 5 to 6 second lead then got trapped in traffic, Glenn closed to a second then Jordan pulled to a 7 second lead by the end.
Look forward to Road Atlanta.

Congrats
On a different note. Its puzzling to me that Lees assessment of this car has been negative on many fronts. From drag to suspension geometry ive seen posts lees made on multiple sites stating the car is fundamentally flawed. Makes me question his business philosophy if he randomly bad mouths his competitors product. Especially if these criticisms turn out to be unfounded.
Congrats! Gorgeous car and fast. Hope McLaughlin's Stohr is not badly damaged.
Phil
I don't know Lee personally but I still respect him no matter what he says, he has Nat. Champs to back that up. At this point it's not relevant to throw him under the bus...and I don't own one of his cars as you know. This will all play out as the year goes on. The new Phoenix is going to be a threat...and I'd like to think my "One Off" will be also. Go plunk down some dough on a new RFR or Phx. and join the ranks.

Good point Kris. Weve worked really hard for two years developing our car with top engineers, data, tracks, and drivers. Its a great car but it has its faults like any other. I do wish we had more factory support and updates. We still love the car though.
Lots of exciting developments by others though and the days of easy wins are long gone...

Congratulations on the win. Fantastic debut.
Congrats to Coop, too, for pressuring the new car(s) with his conversion.
Chris, very sorry to hear the weekend didn't go better. When you get the the car back to the shop I'll share my thoughts about getting to oil temps down. Nothing special, just a multi pronged approach. I'm sure there are others (smarter than me) who can help you lick that problem.
BTW, I think your entry did help the FB car count. I learned recently that it isn't your finish that counts, but just the entry (I think).

I agree with you completely and meant no disrespect to lee. I only hope to some day understand race cars as well as he. My purpose of comment was more to understand his disposition towards the small community of FB.
Im in the process of joining the group and ive hesitated with the arrival of the great new cars recently. since im not coming directly from other formulas the acquisition of things like trailer and tools and spares and all the other stuff has taken more time and funds than id wished. I hope my sideline commenting is approved for the time as im a great proponent of this class and look forward to meeting you all.
Sitting in the Airport reflecting on our weekend, First off congratulations to Ralph and Coop.
Ralph enjoyed our talk, Racing in general needs more involvement from the manufacturing sector, looking forward to our next meeting over that pint.
Sorry Chris would have loved to see one of us on the track.
With all that has happened, we still think this class has so much to offer and are looking forward to Road Atlanta.
A lot of work to do now. Might have to go to plan B.
Again, congratulations.
Life is what happens to you while you're planning on doing something else!
Congrats to Jordan, Giancarlo, and Jared. Sympathies to Bill & Chris.
