Professional party goers you mean, right?

There's nothing professional about our race setup!

    Party goers . . .Racers. . . same thing.

"Nothing professional about our race setup." - Yeh. Sure. Hold on a second while I move my computer and myself to higher ground. I do not wish to be elecocuted by the volume of . . . I'm just kidding around.

It's just great to see the growth of this class. You just can't beat it. Now, the rule is that newbie of the class throws the party at the first event. Thus, plan accordingly.

Doh! I didn't know about the FE initiation.

I don't think my old man would object to that. Beer is always available at our tent (although we like to drink the weak watered down stuff like Bush Light, Coors Light, etc). I'm glad there is a party atmosphere with the FE crowd. It's sad to see my dad drive around on the scooter searching for some kind of social event at Nationals sometimes.

At least now he can do it on a golf cart.

Looks like I'm gonna have to bring my own beer, too. Life's too short to drink that crap Homer sips.

Welcome to the class!! It really is a great group no matter where in the country you go. Unless you go to So. Cal. in which case you'd still be in a great group, you'll just be the only one in that group. Rumor has it you'll be at the Autobahn in two weeks....... There's another rumor that I'll be there too....... maybe I'll see you there.

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes!! My dad and I are really looking forward to a new class where we will hopefully be doing less gremlin chasing and more driving and setup work. We're aiming to make Autobahn in two weeks so we'll see you there Erin! I think there were 6 cars last year so I'm hoping to see that number increase this year!

I saw Keith run this car yesterday and Blackhawk. I never knew you were so damn fast, great job in qualifying!

How did the race work out? I had water pump problems and pulled off.

    Thanks Joe (Tolo)!
We're really liking the car. It turns out we were a hair under the track record in qualifying but weren't able to repeat it in the race. I was able to keep the lead Zetec FCs in sight for the first few laps until I missed a downshift and was in the wrong gear exiting a corner. From then on out I was putting laps together and taking it easy when coming up on traffic. I was surprised to see the race go green again after the FCY. I was kinda thinking it would be ended under yellow, but it didn't matter. It was a good way to end our season.

So how did you like the new FC?

Great drive, Keith. I enjoyed meeting you and getting to race against you. Given how much faster you were than the rest of us, I guess I've got some serious work to do to get quicker in this car.....

[FWIW, I'm really glad we went back to green after the FCY. My finishing position would have been very different without the restart....]

It was good to finally meet you too Marshall! Next season is going to be a lot of fun!! We need some others to pick up the other cars for sale on here and come out and play! At Nationals next year we're at least going to have 8 cars at every race that I can count right now. Steve may have even more people coming online too!

I think we're going to have a pretty fast group, too. I know that several of the new One Formula drivers should be pretty quick, so I think we'll have a very serious group to race with in 2009. If we can recruit another couple of fast cars, it may not be a slam-dunk to get a Runoffs invite in CenDiv for 2009......

Marshall now owns chassis 39 that he purchased from me. It looks outstanding back in the black livery that it started life in.

Chassis #39 (I think I'm remembering correctly) - I bought it from Steve Stadel/One Formula. They had been running it as #5. I rented it for the RoadAm Nat'l in July and loved it; Steve got tired of hearing me threaten to buy a car and finally sold it to me.

I really, really like this car. I think you guys got the spec formula right overall. This is the first time in the 10 years I've been racing with SCCA that I've been able to fully focus on my driving, as opposed to getting the car just right, getting the right go-fast parts, which fuel should I run, etc. Part of the credit goes to Steve and his guys for doing great prep and support, but the platform itself seems to be very well-suited to it's intended purpose.

Now, if we can just iron out this finicky sequential shifter..........or is it driver error......

    Keith,
The FC was awesome, took some getting used to it and getting comfortable. I love POWER OVERSTEER! It was a tough call from a FSCCA to the Zetec.

Tolo, dont know how they managed that...oh well. I wasnt going to compete for the top 10...so I was cool with it!

Congrats on the new car. It sounds like you will have a lot of fun with it in 09. I'm still banging around in your old car but I did sit in Bruce Allen's car at NewHampshire and it fit me perfectly.hmmmm..

Good to hear from you. I spoke with the father of "The Tank" (Greg Olson) at Blackhawk Farms last weekend. Interestingly, he mentioned the weight of bodywork for those cars - I think we got one of the lighter ones. Go figure....

He had also done some interesting things to get more air to the carbs....that's something I always had trouble with. Shoot me an e-mail and I can tell you more about what he's doing, and how it's working.
