I should be there.....but have not entered yet. Plus bringing one more FF with me. That will put us at 12.

Anyone willing to help out with a starting point for gears? Never been to HPT...so a starting point would be much appreciated.

    Default Gears for HTP

Brad- I ran last at the Runoffs the following gears. 17/33,19/31,22/29,21/24.I was not near the fastest with those gears but I am pretty sure it was not the gears.

Is that gearing for a 9-31 or 10-31 ring and pinion?

Neil told me that Chris Keller was one of the most talented drivers he has ever run. Neil has seen a lot of very talented drivers come through his shop and doesn't hand out superlatives lightly.

It should be an exciting Runoff's in FF.

I have been karting with chris for the past 2 years or so and agree completely. he understands the cars very well, which as we all know helps a lot when making adjustments. Did i mention he is also a very nice guy...

seeing as he set a track record in qualiy i think he will be the man to beat in FF this year.

He may also be in my zetec car for the F2000 pro race at NJMP, hopefully he likes it and does the full series next year. will be interesting for sure, as he has karted w some of the young faster guys in the series and is very confident that he is at least on par

Any results with times from race 2 ?

If I recall,...the lap record is only set in a race and Coello has that at 1:37:025

yes track records are only set during the race, hence the reason i noted it was in qualiy.
no times posted yet for the 2nd race, but chris took win from pole

in race 1 he started 8th and covered the field by 20 seconds, and this was his first time there.

i'm sure it will be a great race with more then one driver capable of setting a new track record

    Default Chris Keller

Chris ran a 136.289 in qualifying and a 137.233 in the second race. Both were track records. Run-off records are evidently kept separeately. Bill Kephart's car driven by Tonis Kasemets was very fast but they choose not to race with us and started at the back of the pack for each race. His car will be up at the front of the pack at the runoffs. We ran "good SCCA legal fuel" in qualifying and the race which we will not be able to run at the runoffs. But there is more in the car and the driver as Chris only drive as fast as he had to as we did not want to take any unnecessary chances with the car. I believe the lap times at the run-offs will be in the 1.25's if the weather is good. Should be fun. Neil

Neil, The "fuel" may have helped a bit but the times are a testament to the program you run and to Kellers talent. If that kid runs in the 25's,....I'll eat my freakin hat

    Default HPT - Thanks

Results for Monday should be here:

    http://mylaps.com/results/showevent.jsp?id=352601

Speaking for our local race group, I wanted to say thanks to all that have come through HPT the last couple years and attended races hosted by the Kansas and Kansas City Regions.

It has been a lot of fun to watch some of the best drivers/cars in the country in all classes and of course it's been great for us to race against the best. We will miss that as the Runoffs move to Road America next year.

Again, thanks to all and hope to see you soon.
