Both Jeff and his Reynard survived their first day at driver school. The car ran without problems and Jeff was grinning ear-to-ear the entire time.

I passed drivers school at Waterford this weekend.
Thanx so much for the HUGE help Steve, taking responsibility for the car and placing it on your shoulders. I dont think the weekend would have been as succesful without that and your advice, both with the car and driving technique.

Thanx for your calming influence Dave, I appreciated you coming.

Joe!! What can I say, it was a blast trying to follow you and very instructive!!!!!

I want to thank my instructor, Mike Pace, for his patience and track knowledge.

The whole weekend was a great experience and a huge success, except for a clutch issue. Havent dug into it yet but but Im pretty sure it's something with the cross shaft. More later on that.

The Reynard ran great, engine was strong, chassis solid, stayed pointed in the direction I wanted it to go, was planted in the corners, just performed great for me. Ran it as it was unloaded!!!!No pieces broken off!!!!!

I want to thank EVERYONE who has assisted me in one form or another over the last couple of years. Your advice and direction is a big part of this coming to fruition!!!

And without this forums existince none of it would have been possible!!!!

I knew Jeff was ready to graduate when he attempted an outside pass in Turn 2 on an F3 car during one of his practice races. He probably would have made it too, if the F3 hadn't had the extra 100 HP.

Steve, I thought I had him for a split second, but Jeff was hooked up pretty good with his Ralt. It was a blast trying to keep up with him!!!! Beautiful car he has!!

I hope I can join you guys at Mid O at the end of the season Corey, thats my goal!!!!!

Waterford #3 will be my next race, step son's graduation being the weekend of Waterford #2. As for this weekend, I have to work and also get what I hope is the Hewlands crosshaft repaired as well as shielding the heat from the supertrapp from getting to the lower wing.

CANT WAIT TO GET BACK ON THE TRACK!!!!!

Well, I did it!!!!
I completed my first race weekend, both car and driver home with all pieces intact.
2 qualifiers and 4 races, 1 on rains.
It was a succesful weekend in my eyes.
One little off in friday practice, no harm no foul. I know my mistake and didnt repeat it.
Now, after looking at some pics of the car in action, I'm left to wonder if the base set up is okay. In the pictures below can anyone tell me if the right wheel has too much camber? It kinda looks like it to me.
Any comments or direction would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations on a successful week end!.

Jeff showed up at the Great Lakes with 5 lime green shirted crew!! who were ready to go and a pleasure to talk to. I would die for 5 crew members!!!

Importantly the car was ready for each of the races at the combined Waterford Hills / Great Lakes Challenge. This was a formidable challenge as some of the front runners were running real close to the CFC lap record and in the WHRRI Wings and Things Race, John Staudacher laid down a 1:03.2 which is not only the DSR lap record but also the absolute track record!!! (by John Horgas) and has stood for about 15 years.

Anyhow Jeff, the car looked great, you finished all of the races and handled yourself well in traffic and there was a fair amount of that with up to 20 cars on the grid.

As for the picture - I didn't see anything out of whack - but can't hurt to meausre the alignment

Again, Congratualtions on a great week end and we look forward to seeing at the balance of the races.

Dave, the kids were GREAT!!!!

Shawn is alive and well through them.

As far as camber goes, it looks to be pretty close.

Maybe a bit too much body roll.

The ultimate check and tuning for camber is the tire pyrometer.

-Congrats - these things are more complex than a jigsaw puzzle, 'cuz the parts aren't all flat, and more fun too 'cuz you can play with them when you're finished putting them together.

-Camber? i don't think it's best to judge by the pix - put it back on a pad

-i would question this from the pix - does the line of the tops of the roll hoop right in front of you and the roll hoop right behind you hit your helmet or are you under that line?

Make sure you check it with you in the car or ballast equaling you, you will see a considerable difference with and without your weight in the car. Someone here wrote to make all of your settings with you in the car, get out and re-record them and that way you can check your settings either way. Great job on your first outing - look forward to seeing you at Mid-Ohio.

That is a very handy bit of info to have at the track. When you have had an issue you can go back and quickly check for problems.I will have to start doing that myself. It's tuff to make your own measurements while sitting in the car

Had a shunt, as you all say, at track out after T6 at waterford this weekend.
Saturday qualifying.
Anyone have a left rear 86sf Upright they would care to part with?
Mine has a little bit of a twist, I'll call Pat Prince in the monring but am looking for options.
BTW, I did knock 5 secs off my best time from the previous outing, something positive from the weekend.
