    Default actuator dentent spring question.

replaced detent spring .. how far in does one run the grub screw in ??

I think mine was flush with actuator body when taken apart. I guess if you run it all the way in then spring is fully compressed not so good

plan - flush with body and some loctite. ?? also looks like rev plunger cap nut offers some backout protection to grub screw

wow the newer actuator torsion spring is much stronger than what I took off. I also found my shifter cable it self was the notchy culprit ..damn dust boots. As it sits on stand just some new springs and the shifting feels much better, but I only had false 4/5 neutral issues on occasion.

Ed: I normally run the set screw in until you can't turn the shifting boat by hand then back out until you can and you hear a good solid "click" when the ball goes into the detent.

Mine is in about 1MM and bottoms out on the threads past there. Mine is not threaded all the way down the hole but it seems that some are and some are not. You have to make sure that you do not turn the grub screw screw in far enough to cause coil bind on the spring by compressing it too much but that would be in a ways.

Also, I personally would not loctite the screw as they do not seem to move and shouldn't be able to rotate out as the nut on the reverse lockout pin partially blocks the hole.
