    Default Citation Progress

My Citation F1000 reached the point last week that I could put it on the ground and roll it around. I snapped some photos and thought I'd share some with the group. Now maybe there are only 1/2 million details left instead of the full million.... We're making the swaybars at the moment. I sure do hope to get the car done in time to run some before the ARRC.

    Thanks for the compliments, guys.

As I mentioned, the latest work is on the swaybars. I've been cutting blades this weekend, and these are a bit of a pita. The flexible nature of the finished product makes them tricky to machine. I've attached some photos at the bottom.

The sockets for the blades are ready, the actual torsion bars are next to do. Then the sockets and bars get welded. Next it all goes off to the heat treater. Then we will finish machine the bores of the sockets (with cermet inserts since it will be quite hard). Simple.

These pieces are for the front bars, so the parts for the rear bar are next. Once everything is off at the heat treater, maybe I can start fitting the rest of my bodywork.

Brandon, those are very nice blades, but couldn't you have just bought a couple pair and saved some time? :-).

It would have been nice, but it wouldn't have packaged as well and would have represented some sort of compromise. Now these are available for the people with the zetec cars and the FB cars.

    Default just trolling...

Pardon the ignorance, but what are the blades?

    Mike,

The blades are for adjustable anti-sway bars, by rotating them in ralation to the direction of force you change the spring rate.

The pictures attached are the same concept used on the back of the 98 VD - shown here on Mike Sirriani's conversion.
