Now the silly season can really start... It would be iontresing to see how the $$ flowed.
So,
Does Fred sit out a year?
The smaller teams can't afford him, altough it would be intresting to see him in a Williams...
Toyota has the $$, but not an appealing package
Same for Honda
Renualt? They want him back, but can Renualt get the mojo back?
Can he take BMW to the next level? That would be intresting to see. Would BMW have stolen a race win or two Fred been driving in 2007?

I would think the safe bet is he "goes home" to Flavio. But I'm hearing a Ross Brawn-Red Bull-Adrian Newey deal could attract him. I have no idea if Red Bull can afford him, but it's an interesting question and after everything else that has happened this year, I wouldn't bet against it.
The flies on a very serious off season and the dominoes are going to fall in some unpredictable patterns.

Well, let's count the number of suggestions for McLaren's open seat that have been posted around the web.

Vettel
Button *
Webber *
Coulthard *
Adrian Sutil
and now ......Schumi !!!
* Seems to be some underlying assuptions that the car is so good, any old fart could win!!

I hope Cole doesn't miss a call from Ron because he is out doing manual labor in the wilds of Florida.
Is cynicism spreading? When you read so many F-1 speak rumors and denials like this so many times, you begin to suspect that it really means Fred's about to sign with Red Bull for a bundle, sending someone (probably DC) down to Toro Rosso, in turn sending SeaBass B. home.
I guess I'm now rooting for the music to truly stop and for him to be left without a seat.

Hmmmmmm, no comment here on Renault getting off scot free yesterday and then confirming a likely 2 year deal with Fred........guess everyone's over at the End of F-1 thread???
Looks like Fred will be back to Flav's shop with Nelson Jr. serving as his step stool, freeing up Heikki to take the McLaren seat. I think the grid is set.
Now, on to other things........can this brave new F-1 world actually work? Sounds good, just like MidEast peace.

Someone once said - If your cheating, your not doing a good enough job of it. Renault was lost this year - why make it worse.
Last I read, Fred was going to announce this Monday where he will be in '08 - and the only seat left was back at McLaren. All parties deny of course. A bit like A-Snob re-joining the Yankees after a bitter parting... Be ashame to see Fred kicked to the curb.

FAST Freddy returns to Renault......

for the other shoe to drop.
Ron needs to announce the last seat of any interest. It's gotta be Heikki. Pedro's too old. Sutil is "set" at Force India (and wasn't all that consistent this season). If Heikki didn't have the McLaren ride in his grasp, he would've swallowed his pride and been Fred's footstool sending Nelson home. And I don't believe Ron's got a surprise dark horse ready to move in. My $0.02.

It will be interesting to see just how he will treat young Nelson P, it should be a walk over, as he does not have the talent of LH, but God forebid what if he starts to show some form, the problem, it seems to me, is that Fred seems to care where he is on the picking order, than getting his sh*t together and driving like he means to win a race, he can do it, but no two days are the same, he did it be fore but he did have the best car, but on a even playing field, he drops the ball, and has a tissie fit.

Now if F1 would just get rid of the wings we would really find out who can drive...

Looks like Heikki will fill the void at McLaren:

I think this will be a good thing; having these 2 kids push each other in a constructive way and having some fun along the way. At least that's the way I'd orchestrate it if I were Bernie's PR lieutenant. Oh wait, he's Finnish; but maybe he's not as deadpan as Kimi.
The picture says it all for 2008,
