    Default Stolen Royale

The owner (Gino Borland) of the Royale and the person who found the car on his property have gotten together. Gino did not even know the car was stolen from the place where his car was stored. I recognized the combination on the color and number and the Fall SCCA Vintage event tech sticker, called Colleen and the case has been solved.

    Default Thanks Al

glad to hear that the owner was found! I hope I never have to use this service, but its great to know its there.

I didn't know there was another RP16 in the area. Do you have his contact info that you can send me offline?

    John,

The owners name is Gino Borland. He is not in the SOVREN roster. Try calling Colleen at the SF SCCA. Or call Judy Buckingham and she can look in a older roster for you.

Gino bought the car from Jim Garner who had restored the car with help from Ken Muth. The previous owner raced the car in IRDC and lived near Maltby. Can't remember his name. Saw him at the Historics though. I think this car had the Bob Earl body work on it.

Gino lives somewhere in the Puget Sound area.

If either of you find out the serial number, my best friend has been looking for his RP-16, #49, and it had the Bob Earl bodywork.

    Default serial number

based on the original post I suspect the serial number is "RP16/31", instead of the "RP16731" that was listed. The "/" could be mistaken for a "7". That would make this chassis number 31..
