Why has the SCCA been so slow to adapt to the modern reality of the internet? When it comes to soliciting my money, the Club certainly has no trouble sending out multiple reminder emails and providing online self-service to renew my membership. Why not the same consideration for:
I realize that the canned answer is "we are happy to accept your emails" - however that still falls far short of answering the systemic questions being raised about communication with the BOD and Club in a formal sense. This one forum is a good concept, but in reality it's probably the "Ask Mike Sauce" forum - and while he's game to answer questions on an ad-hoc basis, it's non-binding and informal. Furthermore, he's only one member of the BOD.
- Allowing members to submit rule change requests online
- Full public trackability of proposed rule changes and their statuses
- Soliciting member input
- Polling members for votes on FasTrack items
- Broadcasting BOD meetings
- Full transparency in process, communication and vision - not just a line in FasTrack that says "at the recommendation of the CRB..."
- Providing a means for members to request action from the BOD by use of quorum vote, similar to the way online petition systems work
