Wanted To Buy Wheel nut cones for Tecnomagnesio

I acquired two sets of Tecnomagnesio wheels for my DB-4 and the wheel nut cones from my SSR wheels are too small. I found one wheel nut & cone assembly that fits perfectly and need to buy three more. Can someone point me in the right direction as to what I need and where to get it?

The diameter of the SSR cone flange(?) that fits in the wheel measures 5.42cm.
The diameter of the Tecno cone flange measures 5.78cm, nearly a 4mm difference.

Also, the depth of the flanges measure:
SSR: 1.28cm but the Tecno is only .66cm (not sure if that matters)

    Regards,

    GregoryJ

    Gregory,

What is the distance from the top of the nut to the surface of the flange that will contact te wheel. Also, what is the thread size?

    Charles:

On the black cone pictured, the top of nut to flange surface that sits on the wheel is 4.3cm.
On the silver SSR cone, the same measurement is only 2.75cm

I believe the threads are 3/4" fine.

I'll check the measurements on my new ones and get back to you tomorrow.

It depends on how far the threads go down the axle. I have some units made that can fit the wheel hole but the top of the nut is only .665 above the point where the flange sits on the wheel. You will need the threads of the axles to go almost even with the outer edge of the wheel center. Let me know.

    Charles:

Thanks for the help. I thought visually it would be easier to judge. The black Tecno nut assembly seems like a better match than the silver SSR assembly. Let me know if I can provide any more info.

From the pictures m ine won't work. You would not have enough thread for the nut to grab. In fact, the silver example is not engaging enough thread to provide proper grip (IMO.) The black example looks fine.

I agree the silver unit is not using enough thread which scares me more than the 4mm smaller diameter of the shoulder. Any more leads are appreciated.

Doug Learned at Fast Forward makes these, at least he makes them for the DB6. You might want to try contacting him, or even Neil Porter who stocks Fast Forward parts.

That is where I bought mine.

That was a simple fix, thanks. Doug had what I needed. I appreciate all the tips.
