Car Count. Based on the entries received as of Tuesday's mail, it looks like the FF/CFF car count will be in the mid to upper teens. This is a disappointment...just three years ago the EWC started 36 cars at Road America. But car counts are down everywhere this year in all classes. Getting FF/CFF car counts back up is something we all need to put energy into this winter.
Reserved Paddock. Chicago Region has upgraded the EWC reserved paddock to the newly paved west paddock area. If you are unsure where this is, ask for directions at registration. Since there will be plenty of room, I've agreed to share the space with some of our other open wheel friends. Get to know them...we need to work together if we want to make a formula car only restricted regional happen.
Driver Info Packets, Decals, etc. Phil and Sarah Kingham will again have the EWC stuff with them at Road America. If you have not yet received your EWC driver info packet or need series decals, stop by Phil's trailer. He's driving the #27 white Zink Z-10C CFF.
Prize Drawing. Rob Howden, publisher of FormulaCar Magazine, will be the master of ceremonies at the Saturday evening prize drawing. The good news is that there likely will be more prizes than drivers so everyone will go home with something. We're not sure yet where and when the drawing will be held. Rob will be driving the FVee "project" car at Road America so stop by the DRE trailer to see what he's got planned. If you are unsure, ask about the EWC prize drawing at the driver's meeting during Saturday's lunch break.
That's all I know. Race hard...and race safe.
