    Default 1L Center of Gravity

Does anybody out there know the center of gravity of an R1 or GSXR motor. I'm not only interested in the verticle and front to back directions, but in reading the moto articles, it seems that the motor may be heavier on the drive sprocket side versus the "right" side.

Just trying to lay a few more things out in the rear of the car, and wondering if there is any benefit to shifting the motor to the right or left, also rotating it to a more up or laid down poisition. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Ask that question at this site:

Ask it in the engine section.
    Hasty Horn will know.

If you have the engine, it's easy to figure out the fore/aft and l/r cg. We just placed the engine on a section of round pipe and rolled it back and forth until it balanced, then marked that point with a Sharpie. Not too scientific but good enough for government work.

    Default No Motor Yet

I haven't procured a motor yet. I was hoping for some differences in this measurement that would help influence my decision. If I had the motor, the CG calculation is no problem. I'll post on the SRN site and see what shakes out. Thanks.
