Sparco Firesuit

I read in the GCR that a firesuit must have a minimum SFI 3-2A/1 certification patch and that FIA homolgated suites are recommended. I have a 1995 Sparco double layer suit that was provided to me in a previous life/career with an FIA insignia embroidered on the back collar with 1986 Standard 01.008.CSA.87. Can I wear this or are firesuit standards frequently updated like helmet standards? I do not see an SFI patch anywhere on the suit.

I believe you can. My Stand21 suit has a simular FIA identification and I've never had a problem.
