    Default Go away Jos.

I would ban him from the RB garage, he is so toxic. Please just go away.

what's the deal with all the drama in F1 anyway? Stuff like his comments would be laughed off in any Indycar or NASCAR garage.

I agree wholeheartedly. After that one Sergio win where all the RB folks were elated and celebrating, there stood Jos completely stone-faced. That told me everything I needed to know about him.

Right or wrong, that could be the nail in the coffin for Horner.

He's worse than Hamiltons Dad. For all the disunity hes predicting with Horner, the weekends' results sure didn't reflect it at all.

I get the parent being on site in the early days but surely Max has found his way by now.

I am more concerned about Adrian Newey's health.

Great TV showing him giving the Mercedes the eyeball on the grid.

Has anyone seen a rumor that states this is about Horner telling the employee not to date Jos? Jos' point of view would make more sense if this is true.

Jos is a well known POS. The vacuum Mateschitz left has the wolves circling. The most successful team in the post Mercedes era could likely self destruct over this.

Ferrari of course suffered a similar fate. Despite their successes, politics ultimately ended their run. The team was dismantled and they haven't been the same since.

The shame of it all is that Max actually seems like a good dude. Of course we don't know how he is in private, but from what I can tell he has really matured well. Perhaps watching his father be a POS was a positive experience. Who knows?

I don't want to be a Max fan, but I have become one. I have heard that he is better in private, looks people in the eye, and is engaging.

Jos famously left Max at a gas station after he lost a kart race. Jos might be a generally good dude, but I'd never leave my son at a gas station over a kart race. That's some cold blooded ****. I have raced my entire life and it is basically what I live and breathe, leaving a child at a gas station over a race is pretty effing crazy if you ask me. It would likely constitute a felony in many US states, just to put that in perspective.

Oh Man, okay, I’ve deleted my post above… Thanks, David.

Yeah, Googling that was worth exactly 180 degrees of rotation.

Tough to argue with the results… but the means are appalling. I can’t help but compare said means to a certain Scottish sheep farmer in the ‘60s, and the contrast makes me dislike current F1 even a little bit more.

Edit: Clarifying… Speaking of Jos here, not Max.

If you haven't seen any videos of him on his free time & are bored, look some of them up. He is always online goofing around & doing sim racing. Even from his hotel last week, he was streaming with his friends like a normal "kid".

That’s very consistent with what I’ve heard from friends who know him very well.

I deleted my post yesterday after reading of Jos’ history. While some could be considered “tough love” that clearly worked in Max’ racing, it’s troubling to think of any kid enduring that — and apparently, others well beyond Max have run afoul of his Dad.

I’ve never been much of a fan of some of Max’ racing tactics, but this dialog has shed light even on that.

I tend to not like slamfests in forums, they’re way too common — and can become a blight on the sport. This sounded like that, honestly, but in Jos’ case I’ve come to learn it was clearly earned. And that really is sad.

My Jim Clark reference was about how drivers were developed on the way up, then vs. now. In the end, for Max to endure what he has, and not crack, and have the successes he’s achieved, makes me respect him a lot more than ever.

How many here know that Max after moving out of karting got his first win as a professional driver was at PBIR? Yep, PBIR in the good ol' US of A.

I never dumped my girls at a gas station. But I did lose my shi7 when they both lost their new winter coats on the same day (grades 8 and 9 I think). While they were always driven to school (was a long way from home) the next week or so of school recesses were pretty cold for them until we "finally" bought them new coats.....

They never lost another coat though!

    Seems fair.

I should get this off my chest… not ten minutes ago, I got behind on my steering and plowed into your new car but am now relieved I kept it to myself…

    (just a joke, Folks)
