    Great car and fairly priced!

    The BMW geek in me can't resist:

    Bimmer = BMW car
    Beemer = BMW motorcycle
    Beamer = Not acceptable for any use after 1989

    I've seen plenty of BMW/high end/European used car dealers use the incorrect terms. There's even one from Chicago that's been running national radio ads for years that they are "Beemer" specialists. Just means they are not deep into the BMW enthusiast world. Everyone's car passion is different, so to each his/her own.

    Would be sad if the dealer you mentioned is an authorized BMW center, but not surprising. Finding anyone in BMW service departments who knows how (or desires) to work on pre-OBDII cars is almost impossible. Enthusiasts are not the target market for new BMWs anymore. More profitable to lease status symbols.

    All that being said, I wish I could add this 2002 to my small stable of Bimmers!

    Even worse, just try to find one that actually knows how to tune a tii. I ran into that problem many years ago, had to go to an independent shop that knew what the heck they were doing. I do miss that car...
